been a while but can log in now! so new loco build! southern Q class

well sorry for no news for ages its been a long time as been busy with lots of other things but got a couple of new builds going now so hope to do a few more posts! and finally been able to log in after months of not being able to???? anyway shot below shows Golden arrows southern Q class on the work bench!

should have some more news soon!

Just a quick update q class is now back on the go! new chimney has been found & a set of buffers so will be adding new photos soon! hopefully will have a running loco awaitting paint!!! we shall see.

when i can find a suitable one its up for a change! only saying that because its slightly miss formed,but i knew this when chris sent it to me!

Looks good so far. If you are using a RTR chassis, who's is it?

hi jim its currently sitting on a Hornby/Dapol/airfix 4f ! thats what the kit is set up for but you could easily fit in a scale chassis as long as its a small motor! as there is very little room inside the body moulding.

so at present it will stay tender drive for ease of use on our layout, but im thinking of doing a couple more so we shal see.

I think the 4F and Q wheelbases are different, so if you did find a Q-specific scale chassis, you would have to expect to move the splashers into the correct positions. Admittedly easier to do this with resin / plastic than it is doing it with whitemetal!
