Some curiosities.....

For some reason I have ended up with two directors' saloons and their locos - neither of which I can really make use of!

First Up an M&L LNWR Cornwall and Saloon.

hand lined (I must be mad!!) I built the saloon, my late father the loco - and this has visited many, many layouts over the years.

And now a NER Class A - scratchbuilt by father, painted by me..

and then a D &S Inspection Saloon painted and lined by me with some Steve Barnfield transfers..

last seen on Gresley Beat at Preston Show..

enjoy!!

my dad was pretty handy at scratchbuilding and kit building - me - I am a bit of a bodger when it comes to welding things together - better at weathering(!)

my father cuts his own gears, I'm sure he does it to show off, one day I may master the black art of solder

my dad didn't go as far as cutting his own gears but he did build all sorts of things including a mandolin!
