Shameless reposting of earlier images, but what the hell.

I still mean to do something with this Roco model one day, altough quite what my plans will be, I'm not too sure. Perhaps a diorama, to begin with - something that can be expanded as time/motivation allows? It's a cracking model, in any case, and really deserves an authentic scenic setting in which to display it. For maximum effect, it just needs some dead flies on the front.

I like this one. Although I personally like the 1950's Rode Duivels (Red Devils) diesel traction.

For instance this type a NS standard ing. Douma station could be a good option.

I think this could be a nice start for a diorama (somewhere in the future)

But with some Dutch overhead wire your picture could also be some where in Limburg, a county in the Netherlands with nice hills.

Hi Job - yes, I went on the preserved line in Limburg once - beautiful scenery.

I agree about  Geldermalsen, but

if I had to model one of the Dutch branchlines. I would go for this one: Aachen-Maastricht  (diesel traction 1950's).

One of my favourite stations is halt Eijs-Witem.

It is on the museum line you visited.

You've got me all distracted now! Al, it's a credit to your modelling that an unweathered "foreign" model can just be dropped on your tracks like that and yet it all still looks quite realistic. Your landscaping simply lends realism to everything dropped into it! (except maybe a hairdryer, but who knows!).

It's a lovely Roco model too, though.

Job, that photo from Beilen is full of atmosphere. And most of it comes from the lady! Shows how much figures mean for a scene, I think.

I agree completely with you. Mostly we overdo adding figures or details to a scene. For detailing for me less is more.
