Three ex LMS Express Passenger Engines. All built and painted by Graham Varley. They are EM, have Ultrascale wheels and are from kits.

The two Duchesses are from DJH kits and have Digitrains sound on Zimo 648 chips fitted by me before weathering them

First up City of Lichfield

Beautiful workmanship as usual Baz - I have clear memories of the condition of these locos in the late fifties/early sixties and you've captured it really well. Used to stand on the platform at Kilmarnock then, spotting the 'Thames Clyde Express' which was very often headed by a Scot. Thanks for sharing the images with us my friend,

Kind regards,

Jock.

Baz, very nice work.  I am building a K70 de-streamlined (off and on between Gauge 0 projects) and found that the bend in the tender sides were incorrectly formed.  After adjusting them as best I could the surface has become a bit uneven but this would not have been unusual due to coaling operations, etc.  I note that Lichfield's tender has some "weathering" along the top edge of the tender - is this intentional or is it just the light?

Sorry Focalplane missed your question.. It is intentional, Stanier tenders picked up a lot of crud from the coaling stages - this shows up on some pictures of the locomotives. The amount varies.
