A bit of a scene.

Sometimes its good to set up a scene, it reassures me that all is coming together as a concept and reminds me of what I am trying to make in the longer term. The bridge now looks a bit bridge like, so I decided to set it up with a few bits and take a couple of pics from the east, since when in place it won't be seen much. Of course it wont be fixed in place, It just clips into the abutments. The columns which hold it up on the station platform are circular with an egg and dart moulding at the top, I have no idea how I'm going to make them. I think I'll take a break from bridges and build a couple of wagons.

This is roughly how it will look in situ.

It doubled up the pics because they are worth seeing twice!

That looks superb Dave. Beautiful modelling and composition. The fairly broad expanse of setts across the bridge is very convincing and visually pleasing, I think. The way you've set up the figures is alo really effective, not too busy and not too quiet. All very inspirational.

Do I understand correctly that the front of the station won't be visible when the station is in situ - or will there be another board on the far side of it?

I look forward to seeing the wagons. When in doubt, build wagons :-)

Cheers Mikkel,

The front face of the station would only be visible from an acute angle, I'm still considering a mirror on the end backscene board of the layout. In theory another board could be added. but that would need a bigger house, or a whole wall demolished with some serious steelwork in place.   Don't tempt me.....

It seems a shame to hide that beautifully modelled station front, so obviously you'll need a bigger house :-)

That looks brilliant Dave. I see what you mean about the Silhouette, that would take some cutting by hand.

I'm going to go back to the beginning of your blog tomorrow and have a good rea.

Cheers

Jason
