Micro layout-£50 budget?

Hi all, been away from modelling for a bit, untill recently having a full leg operation resulting in lack of mobility, time off work, and time to fill! I acquired a foot foot shelf (but have opted to use this for my art paintings) which left me with the pic attached. A 1.5x1 foot square piece of wood!
I've always loved micro layouts, and I am now in 2 minds. To recreate the stable ridings at new street, or a tmd. The tmd would be different in the aspect of designing it for shunters, like LH group in Burton. The depot type building could act as the fiddle yard too. I want this to be 00 gauge, and maybe attempt to keep a budget of 50 pounds! What are people's thoughts?

Ps anyone tell me how to add more photos??

The only way I know is to go back to the original blog post and edit it. This is what I do. I have seen photos included in people's comments but never worked out how to do it.

For the TMD, if you could make a traverser then this could be the focal point of the layout. Then model only the front few inches of the depot building and put the fiddle yard behind this. Access to and from the depot being from a road behind the building. A mirror on the backscene at this end to make the building look deeper.

If you make the building from card and traverser from wood or metal, this leaves the £50 to spend on some lengths of straight track (possibly s/h Setrack with sleepers buried), and the trimmings. It always seems to me, the bulk of the money goes on little scenic fixtures and fittings.

Not sure if its the same on blogs as on forum posts, but if you edit your post, then choose to use the Full Editor (or it may be a 'Reply with Attachments' button) you can add as many as you like from there.

If you want them as attachments, just add them and upload them.  If you want them to appear within the text, add and upload as before, then click the cursor in the test where you want it to appear and click the 'Add to Post' link beside the appropriate image.

some I.T issues, been posting via my phone but doesnt seem to be here-on my laptop!

so yes, 00 will be a tall order! but i have seen some great boxfiles and this is longer and wider.

i would love to contain the fiddle yard on space provided too.

after some measuremeents, the 08 depot idea may look odd?

the stabling sidings as like p4 newstreet looks great, but would not be able to build that signal box.

My other idea today is aylesbury depot....

the idea with aylesbury would be the far building could act as fiddle yard. this could hold a full class  67, and expose the majority as per dmu. the yellow crane could be repositioned to the far end with a mirror to make it look deeper/bigger. wells green has packed much detail in his layout so is possible here. i could even have the exposed siding bit from depot electrified also.
