  1. Acquired this, ideal for layout and storage.any suggestions welcome? A take on new street stabling sidings?
  2. So minor change in plan, acquired this make up box, which is not only able to house the layout, but all the stock with its many compartments. Track laid, not sure where I am going with it now. ? A take on new street stabling sidings?
  3. So after much head scratching and yet another 6 weeks off work, and a visit to Dapol today, the move will be to n gauge! Will still be working on this board as it fits into tv cabinet! The aim is to get it like new street stabling sidings!any suggestions on how to build new street signal box?
  4. the idea with aylesbury would be the far building could act as fiddle yard. this could hold a full class 67, and expose the majority as per dmu. the yellow crane could be repositioned to the far end with a mirror to make it look deeper/bigger. wells green has packed much detail in his layout so is possible here. i could even have the exposed siding bit from depot electrified also.
  5. some I.T issues, been posting via my phone but doesnt seem to be here-on my laptop! so yes, 00 will be a tall order! but i have seen some great boxfiles and this is longer and wider. i would love to contain the fiddle yard on space provided too. after some measuremeents, the 08 depot idea may look odd? the stabling sidings as like p4 newstreet looks great, but would not be able to build that signal box. My other idea today is aylesbury depot....
  6. Ps likey 00, unless I attempt something in n gauge like new street stabling point. If you check out new street p4, this would be good. I have 1 yard of 00 gauge left, one right hand point and a yard of n gauge track. Just wouldn't fancy building new street signal box!
  7. The latter could function as a single line depot, just allows a class 67 to pop out.of depot and a whole one to be hidden in the depot, in effect become hidden area to swap locks. No points means reduction in cost. Could still have a track in foreground with a mirror to right to make area look bigger. Would allow for bidding and operating more than 1 class 08 in and out of depot. Could become something like esseltey slt layout and allow for the amazing detail such as wells green tmd
  8. Thanks so far, and sorry been quiet. Been looking around at lots of ideas. Would love to keep everything confined in this space-inc a possible transversor.
  9. Hi, after a significant injury, I am going back into modelling. I've a 1.5x1foot plank, and looking at creating something similar to oh group in Burton. The depot can act as fiddle yard. What are people's thoughts?
  10. Ps anyone tell me how to add more photos??
  11. Hi all, been away from modelling for a bit, untill recently having a full leg operation resulting in lack of mobility, time off work, and time to fill! I acquired a foot foot shelf (but have opted to use this for my art paintings) which left me with the pic attached. A 1.5x1 foot square piece of wood! I've always loved micro layouts, and I am now in 2 minds. To recreate the stable ridings at new street, or a tmd. The tmd would be different in the aspect of designing it for shunters, like LH group in Burton. The depot type building could act as the fiddle yard too. I want this to be 00 gauge, and maybe attempt to keep a budget of 50 pounds! What are people's thoughts?
