Guest jim s-w Posted January 29, 2010 Hi Tom Looks good. Before you go shopping though most model railway stuff is far too big for a macro lens. For macro think of photographing things like insects and droplets of water. That sort of size. Cheers Jim Link to comment
James Hilton 3,764 Posted January 29, 2010 Good point Jim - you probably need a depth of field program for Photoshop where you later several photographs with different focal lengths to get an overall pic - a little bit of a cheat but highly effective (just need a tripod and constant light source, plus the ability to manually focus). Will J 718 Posted January 29, 2010 Are the two overgrown lines slightly sunken compared to the freshly ballasted main lines, if so, good call, it looks really good! Presumably the nearer grassy line is runnable, and the one in amongst the foliage at the back is more 'scenic'!! Link to comment
RMweb Gold TomE 7,536 Posted January 30, 2010 RMweb Gold How did you get the Woodland Scenics grass to stand up like that Tom? Hi James The grass on the lines is just sprinkled onto the base layer of ballast whilst the Kleer used to fix it is still wet. If there is any sort of key to, it's to drop the strands onto the surface from as lower height as possible. Cheers Tom. Link to comment
