Playing with photography

On the suggestion of James & Jim I've been playing with the depth of field settings on the camera:

Quite pleased with the results but probably need to invest in a tripod! I think it does show just how far N gauge has come in the last few years.

A few people have been asking about the grass and the methods used so I'll try and put up a few photos of how I do it.

Cheers,

Tom.

I like the grass and trees. You've certainly got a scale effect there- I often think that N is let dowm by too heavy scenic effects. Please detail your methods and materials as I would be most interested.

Thanks Richard.

I'll put something together for the next entry about the methods used.

Cheers,

Tom.

Tom - Two more great photos - the combination of using Easitrac and losing the rapido couplings really makes a significant difference - Perhaps a few notes on your DoF settings used to create these shots would also be of interest - Pete

I hadn't realised it was N! Yes, it has come a very long way, but the angles you've used certainly help B)

I've just found your blog, those photos are excellent. Pete and Ben are right, code 40 rail, no Rapidos and delicate scenics make a great difference.
