Weathered trams! Middleton Railway exhibition and other bits and bobs................

Whilst getting ready for the Middleton Railway exhibition last weekend I decided to attack a couple of the works trams with some Tamiya weathering powders, I always felt that they were too clean and tidy. Seemingly weathering trams appears to be not the particularly done thing, I've only ever seen Paul (PLD) mention it on his motorising a Horsfield thread on RMweb3

Anyway, thought I'd have a go so here's a pic of, perhaps slightly overdone, tower car 1. I really must stick a driver in there, looks a bit odd otherwise.

So the weekend was spent in the Engine House at the Middleton Railway, all in all a great weekend, was well looked after by an exceptionally friendly and helpful crew there, so much so I can see myself being back there as a member/volunteer some time soon.

A couple of pics of the real thing.

So now I need to concentrate on getting quite a few of the fleet finished off (mainly glazing........it's the one job I really dislike) in time for the festival of tramway modelling at the end of the month. Where hopefully the master for Leeds 600 will be on show and finished, I had a brief chat with Mark Hughes (tram model maker not ex utd legend!) and sorted out how the etched advert boards/walkways will be fitted etc. I'll stick some pics up soon to show progress, then again I might get sidetracked onto building 601/2 as I've just acquired an unbuilt Tramalan kit for one of the Roe bodied railcoaches.............
