Flying Banana - Part XIIIb

Hello :)

This is more of a post to say 'Im still here' than anything else. Things are moving forward with Elvis but never more than a slow crawl really. I am still very much bogged down in sorting the electrics out for it although I have had lots of help from Nigel and Ray but with 12 LEDs to wire up to a decoder its a little beyond my capabilities and its hard to get my head around it all. Other things that have been happening are I have now got some bogie sideframes courtesy of Allen at Worsley Works (thank you Allen) so those need to be assembled. The bodywork has now some big gaps on each side and there are also a few more details added too.

Anyway I wanted to show a bit of progress so here goes...

Here is a sneek preview of Elvis with a freshly painted and lined body...

Wow.... the first coat of primer is my favourite stage of any modelling project! It almost looks like a modern railcar, outshopped in plain grey ready for an operator to put their logos on!

If the livery photoshopperists get hold of this as a blank canvas...... :D

Very nice! That coat of primer makes a big difference.

I dare you to paint it in Network South East livery now :P !

The really great thing its there is nothing to tell what scale it is. Most 0 gaugers would probably compromise more than you do. I love all the detail.

Excellent piece of modelling Missy. The primer shows off the quality of the build as well, with a smooth finish and all the detail for the eye to see.

Hmmmm! First Great Western 'Local Lines' livery I personally think!

Looking forwards to the next post.

Cheers,

Mark

The details on your 2mm scale Banana puts many 4mm scale models to shame! And DCC lights too!

Thanks guys :)

The outside is now painted and now I just need to figure out how to do the transfers before the thing is varnished. I have also tried out using a bow pen for the lining and although far from perfect I am happy with it for a first attempt. As everyone knows 'practice makes perfect'!
