Bruckless Junction - an overdue update

I haven't been able to do a lot of work on Peter's layout since the summer due to holidays and work commitments. However, the ballasting to the front scenic section is finished bar weathering and I have done a bit more planting. On Phase 2 the track is laid and wired giving 12 long storage sidings for rolling stock and a fan of short sidings, served by a Peco turntable, for locos. Peter has stock covering the period from BR steam to the present day and some of this needs storing when not in use. There still isn't room for all the Irish Stock! Work is also well on with the container depot. The overhead crane runs on Peco 00 Code 75 rail separated by cutting down the centre of the sleepers. The whole crane area is infilled with plasticard to rail height and painted. Getting the paint of the sides of the rails afterwards took almost as long - the crane wheels seem to rely on picking up power from the sides of the rail head (mismatched profile?). Still a lot of work to do. Anyway, here are a few pics taken yesterday.

I'm jealous of your railway room and having a big layout to let those train gallop free! Those LED lit shots work for me!

It's not actually my room. It belongs to a friend who, having collected an enormous amount of stock over the years and built his railway room for his 'retirement', then contracted motor neuron disease. So, for the last eighteen months I have been building his layout for him in my spare time. Fortunately he got a builder to do all the carpentry. I must say that I have learnt an enormous amount about modern railways (for me that's post steam era!) not to mention DCC!

Thanks for the comments on the night shots. I would be the first to admit that my efforts come no where near yours. As a matter of interest, what is the name of the software you use to merge shots to increase the depth of field.
