Hythe Parkway - A change of plan

Hi,

A very belated update on progress of the extension of Hythe.

Unfortunatly not a lot has been done since the last entry, due to the christmas period and myself going back to school, I have little time to get on with things. So this weekend, I decided to get a move on with it!

Luckily, with dad being retired I managed to get him to do a couple things last week. We had planned on a small fiddle yard at the back of the yard and disguise the entrance with a section cut from the workshop building from the old board. When we measured it, the angle that the track would enter the fiddle yard means that we couldn't to do that. So we've decided to make it scenic and put the old workshop building to good use (along with low relief building that once stood behind it). This did mean cutting a large chunk out of it to fit on the board:

Here it is in comparision with the other buildings:

The new scenic area has meant that I can now have abit of lorry parking and an office building as well, meaning I can have a play with some cameos :D

You'll see in the bottom left hand corner, my christmas present (well it wasn't because I brought it myself the day before Christmas eve from Howes Models), a pair of Realtrack FLA freightliner flats (with containers).

They are a beautifull model, sets a standard from the forthcoming Class 143's.

On the 12th January, I managed to run all of my freight stock on my Clubs (High Wycombe & District Model Railway Society) layout Hinton Parva during a 'Post-Steam run'. I took a couple of images during the evening (sorry for poor quality):

EWS Class 60 No. 60014 'Alexanda Fleming' rumbles through Hinton Parva on it's way south with 6O14, the Tinsley - Hythe Parkway Enterprise service:

On Hire to Freightliner, EWS Class 66 No. 66135 waits to depart the goods through road at Hinton Parva while covering for a bent 70012 (:P ) on 4O92, the Birmingham-Hythe Parkway Intermodel Train on behalf of Marsh Distribution:

Also, Hythe will be getting a Class 33! A friend of mine has sold me his Green 33 with SYP as Eastleigh and will be making it's apperance in time for the Abingdon Show.
