Stop!...Carry on.

As the wagon builds come to a close and I still continue to struggle to find any company willing to sell me the necessary items (Headlamps) from their detail accessories ranges to finish the MDR125p, and what with the summer(!) I wanted something to do that I could pick up and put down.

So after browsing some of the historical Swedish Railway sites I stumbled upon a photograph taken in Osterport of this great signal and signal box/shed. So with photo and a whole set of standards and drawings I set to work. As the prototype is a 'T Signal', I do not envisage enough space on the layout to operate two way, through operations, so keeping it simple I opted for the single direction semaphore we are all used to on British Railways.

Standing anywhere between 8 and 15m tall, clearly these signals are going to be quite big in 1/35 scale. Having no prototype info to hand as to the actual height I went for the 10m option :) - so in model it stands at nearly 300mm heigh.

Fully operational including working spectacles, the signal is seen here sat on its base which contains the operating mechanism. The slight droop of the arm is to be taken out by adjustment within the mechanism.
