Testing testing

The JMA's continue (slowly) to materialise, i've built all the bogies to the same pattern shown in my previous blog.

Once the frames were soldered up i gave them a good running session to see that everything was working and running properly. This seemed to go well so i added all the detail that i had been creating, such as brake detail, dampers etc. After this, ( which has admittedly taken since the last update!) they got another run or two

After this things went a bit downhill, one or two bogies developed running problems, so i've been dismantling them and refettling, then testing again, annoyingly 1 bogie continues to be a pain in the a$$e, over 1 piece of track, which no other piece of rolling stock i own ever derails over, i will get it sorted, but its getting to the stage where i may just build another bogie!

I was about to look into making a load for the wagons, prior to weathering, but they've got to run properly first.

This pic shows how i made the dampers, out of sequins and o-rings, i said i'd post a pic of it, a short length of brass tube 5.5mm dia is used for the o-rings and sequins to sit on.

Back off into the loft now, get this bogie sorted, then weathering, nice! I'll take some proper pics then, just a quick snap for now.

Looking forward to seeing your weathering Chris!

I've gone and bought a rake of HHAs to make into JMAs.... dear oh dear. I guess that means I'll have to do the JMA LTF-25 now as well.

Hi guy, glad to hear your going down the JMA route, i imagine the bogies will look exquisite as per those you'vr been working on for the JHA's. The JMA's are basically finished now, i've created a load and done the weathering, just waiting for some decent weather to apply some varnish and try take a reasonable pic or two.
