Hello Prodigy.

A couple of suggestions: As a reader, I would prefer a more detailed description of your plans for the layout, and a track plan or similar. These are easier for the rest of us to relate to and comment on than shopping-list or "brainstorm" types of entries.

Also some good quality photos of your own would be good, to illustrate progress on the layout - once you get to a stage where you feel there is something to show / discuss.

Personally I don't think blog entries have to be works of art, but it might be good to wait until there is some actual work of your own to show.

In this way, I find, blogs can also be used as a way of keeping your modelling going. Eg you can set yourself a point that you want to get to before you make the next blog entry (eg a finished kit, or a piece of research, or experiments with different approaches/materials etc).

I hope you don't take this the wrong way, it's meant only as constructive criticism :-)

Hi Prodigy,

reading your blog entries gives me the idea that you are a fairly young person, (I stand to be corrected) and new to forums and blogging on RMWeb.

Whilst I agree with all the previous comments that your entries are a little boring and not really what this section of RMWeb is about, I think that you need some encouragement and guidance with your blogging and modelling.

Don't be put off by what you may think are negative comments, These comments are meant to be constructive and to help you make your blog more interesting to your readers.

I look forward to seeing you improve your blog and show us some thing of your layout when you have something to show us.

I will continue to read your blog in the hope that you take on board what Andy and Mikkel have said.

Cheers and good luck

Frank

Come on- We know you can read this stuff, look at some of Mikkel's stuff and Frank's if you want to see what a good blog post is like. Get some tools out and start some wood butchery and then photograph the results- we all had to start somewhere and I would say baseboards would be a beginning. Or as suggested do a drawing of your plan, either using a free computer program like anyrail or just on paper, photograph it then post it up, that way the helpful folk here will stop any errors from getting into your track work as well as have something to read.

As above, it is our intention to help, but first you need to listen to the advice given.
