but the last photo shows off the brickwork detail nicely.

I wasn't planning to, because the curtains would be closed when the lights were on.

The lights would be on and the curtains open on a dark autumn/winter/spring day...

The detail may not be clearly visible but something would show. I bet if you just sort mocked something up it wouldn't look quite right but that view of the mantlepiece with the clock on top is just the sort of detail that would be glimpsed through a window. Assuming that side will face the viewer of course. Lovely work.

Oh, those are are gorgeous, I'd tell myself I was doing well in 4mm, in 2mm, top class modelmaking. 

 

Perhaps the bed needs a bolster and a pair of pillows ? Can't have a stationmaster with a bad back from a wrong sleeping posture .... 

 

I totally agree with adding details that you know are there but can't be seen. Really, have a shot at a 2mm scale "guzunder"...... Just because you can. 

Very nice. Pretty stylish interior decoration too, and nicely subdued colouring of the furniture.

 

I understand why you did it. It's a bit like lettering wagons on both sides for a shelf layout. You don't actually have to, but most of us still do it. It doesn't feel real otherwise.

If you had fun doing it then yes it was worthwhile and don't let anyone tell you "you're wasting yer time"
