  1. Those Slaters printed coach sides are superb. If anybody picks up more official news about this service, please pass it on. Are these 7mm sides? I wonder if they do similar work in 4mm?

  3. Premier Components have a good service from my dealings with them and I am sure you won't be disappointed with the rods. They have been used on my Dean goods build and needed no fettling whatsoever Dave. G

  4. Update! The Premier Components milled rods arrived today Just what I’d ordered, posted in a sturdy box and arrived within 4 days, two of which were the weekend! Excellent service as far as I’m concerned Just hope this information offsets some of the negative posts lurking on the forum about speed of service!

  5. I just love that photo of the City and the Bird together. It harks back to the 1920s era that i model - just brilliant. I really do admire the work you have done and the results you have achieved from what is a pretty ordinary starting point. If you combine these two with the Aberdare and Armstrong Goods, you have a bit of real GWR! Wonderful stuff, keep it up. regards, Craig

  6. Dave hopefully I've uploaded the photo correctly. Here are the sides exactly as returned from Slaters, what do you think? Malcolm

  7. Yes they are a bit tricky! I used a thin cut off disc in a Dremel to partially cut through the fold line to weaken it. Once that had been done it was fairly easy to fold at 90 degrees using two pairs of fine nosed pliers and then strengthen with a fillet of solder. Although a bit of a challenge to construct, they do run beautifully and the springing really helps smooth out the motion through pointwork Best Regards Dave
