  1. Sorry to hear this. It would have been worth reporting to the moderators.

  2. Derby also loaned a loco to Leys Foundry which one is not recoded in files I was able to see but it would have to have been an 0-4-0, nor did they record why the works Sentinel had failed. I'm sure that it wasn't a Free loan, again I didn't see any hiring costs listed. Word around the foundry was that on first entering the works yard between a couple of buildings the Derby Engine's chimney fouled the overhead electricity cables shutting down a portion of the works.

  3. Lindsay Galloway produced a Silhouette file for a CR brake. Don't know which one though. The wee John Boyle one is very nice - I have one built and may have a spare etch somewhere. Jim P

  4. Thanks Mikkel, Thought you were a bit of a Mogul fan. Being a bit contentious here I could almost see an Ivatt Class 2 Mogul in GWR livery although fitted with GWR boiler fittings. There is something in the Ivatt 2MT which carries on the Swindon influence to LMS design in my eyes. Then again... The Hornby figures are nicely moulded. The fireman in particular. In a future blog you will see the drivers used following extensive surgery. Cheers, Mark

  5. Wow. Brilliant work 5&9 - you and Mikkel seem to be in a class of your own regarding the observation of and modeling the Victorian world. It’s just pure Dickens come to life with that man in the snow along the bridge. Breathtaking stuff. Mike.

  6. I don't know why London Road set the valances so thick because on most Webb engines the valances were rather thin; almost non existent. Mine maybe still overscale: coloured photo from LNWR Society Facdbook
