  1. No idea I’m afraid, maybe it was painted in black during the war with GWR?

I believe 1401 was an unintentional celebrity of the film, the producers rocked up at Westbury shed and saw the loco which fitted their bill for the film.

Park has beaten me to it, yes it was Greenwood.  Looked very well done and very well put together.  I was going to ask, but the chap was busy with various people, but I think the black mechanism in the second and four turntable shots is the motorising unit for it.

Do you know, I hadn't noticed that!  The chap that owns this layout was really interesting to talk to. Lanwick Halt (Not sure about Halt for a terminus station, but hey) is only 12 foot long (including fiddle yard) and was 22" wide if I remember rightly.  Ok, in some respects limited operating potential, but in other respects an awful lot of movements you could do.  Two roads went out the fiddle yard, and a lead from one of them lead to a small warehouse that hid the fiddle yard from view.  Even when nothing was moving there was plenty of detail of look at and it really made the layout look longer and wider than it was.

Hmm, I am not so sure .. all the adjacent passengers seem to have turned their backs!  If it was a firewoman, we could have a proposal on our hands I suppose.... :)

Thanks Gents the Greenwood product looks the bees knees !

According to some people on this thread Dave is "dammed if he does and dammed if he doesn't."

Those who have invested in his crowdfunded projects already know how to deal direct with Dave by e mail, telephone or letter.

    For everyone else.................

Arent most of the projects still looking for investors, even more so now a few have declared their out?

Therefore everyone should be given information not just a “committed” few, as everyone is still a potential investor.

So running with that idea, this means that whilst he was in China, he presumably found out nothing that he felt his crowdfunders would be interested in. Quite an expensive trip to deliver nothing of note.

Fingers crossed that isn't the case - hopefully, as I write this, he is drafting out updates for all the models, to be sent out later this week.

If your not paying for the trip who cares if it’s expensive or not ?

    Agreed

I e mailed Dave on 13th May and he answered my questions by e mail on 14th May.

So he can answer a email which is “good news” as in a general query whilst he’s “out of the office” but can’t answer the 100s of people who are worried they’ll lose money.

So was he out of the office, which you would reasonably assume he can’t answer communications as a result, or is it another mistruth/misrepresentation?

This get stinkier by the day, where’s the Cook Report bloke when you need him.

  6. Wasn’t it last Friday he suggested he’d have some kind of news ?

No press release on his website at the moment, another missed release date why am I not surprised.

Whats stopping him just slipping away never to be seen or heard of again ?

DJ Models is a limited company.

So if/when time is called a certain person can walk away with their personal finances unblemished ?

Potentially to set up another limited company and start all over again, cowboy builder style ?

One should really read back over the APT thread, particularly mid-year 2018.    The following is a signature from one of Dave's postings (perhaps it is on all his APT postings)?

    Quote:  "

Please note this is a DJM crowdfunding project and DJM will be invoicing, designing, and finally supplying the finished model and is therefore totally responsible for your investment.

Also: Please Note: Any 'pure' crowdfunding venture is an investment with no guarantee of return, and your invested capital (deposit payments) are at risk. Please consider carefully whether you wish to partake in this venture before ordering."  End quote.

It would seem self explanatory - no refunds!!!!!!!

A fool and his money are easily parted they say, pretty much a open cheque to potentially produce a model, or not with no come back if/when it doesn't happen.

That reminds me, I must remember to send my $1000 money transfer to that nice Nigerian Prince, for my $1,000,000 prize  !

Crowdfunders come to attention and rally around!

there was a time when a gentleman was a man of his word...no I don't mean Dave but us crowdfunders who pledged allegiance to his banner and marched behind him waving our mighty £30 deposits - willing to fight for the freedom to choose the model we wanted.

Yes that 92 from Accurascale looks really nice but should we be so quick to run to it. They have revealed a CAD just a few weeks ahead of announcing they are going to tooling, so there was a lot of advance planning and work going on, who knows how soon after Dave announced his plan for a 92. They are almost apologetic about the 92 that they are making. I think they say the original plan was they wanted to make the Mark 5 but on agreement they have to make a Class 92 as well to go with it. So sorry for them ruining our project.

Are they aware that they are going to hurt all the crowdfunders really bad? They don't want to talk about it.

Luckily Accurascale are coming to our rescue us with a great looking 92 (no I really do think it looks to be a stunning model) after torpedoing our project - thanks guys.

Now some of YOU crowdfunders are complaining about Dave and saying they are going to walk away from 2nd deposits because they are going to buy from Accurascale.  Even if he came to market next week with a better, more affordable Class 92 with a free sound chip and which laid golden goose eggs would you come back?

Should we be surprised if Dave walks away from this project?

It is the crowdfunders who have walked away which killed this project - not Dave.

God is this where the money has gone, a blame everyone apart from DJM spokesman?

Blame literally everyone or anything except his own inability to deliver many years on from the launch!

You really couldn’t make this comment up !

Yes, you always play the wounded crusader too, but actually you’re just unpleasant most of the time. The boss even told you as much earlier.

I’m far from a Dave apologist, but you literally just post contextless comments saying how awful he is. All the time. It’s really dull.

Your welcome to ignore me if I’m so dull.

For the record initially I was very supportive of various projects, I only turned when it was apparent things where going south.

He hasn't said he's posting an update on the 17th, he's said he's not around until the 17th so any updates will be after that. You've always been trolling his threads baying for blood, good to see that's not changed.

Okay, your welcome to your opinion - raise concern - equal troll.

    Typical.

What's wrong with TRYING to get answers?  Let's not pick up every word and phrase for critique.

Nothing, if you have a proven track record of delivering - trying, but just not quite getting there just sums up this firm sadly.

Such statements do step over a line as they're an opinion based speculation. You cannot be certain and you cannot back it up with facts so let's stay on the evidential based side of the line please.

  14. Several thousand pounds have been sunk into DJM Ltd, those who have given money for a return ie, a model they have a right to know  why: the project has gone wrong, where the money has gone - in detail, what has actually been delivered - anything that can be sold to return funds etc.

it all seems very convenient how several crowdfunding schemes can all fail (in practice, not officially yet) with monies lost with zero recourse or explanation.

Now the leading man declares himself out of office until mid May, with some vague hope of information when he returns.

I've no personal dislike for DJ, I’ve not brought or invested in any of his schemes, my anger is how this has continued to bump along from drama to drama, missed deadline to missed deadline but people are still saying they’ve ordered models, continue to show faith and just shrug off losing their had earned money.

Maybe these schemes should of been run through a 100% trustworthy platform which provided protection to the investor - or was that not that plan all along ?

  15. It appears DJM isn’t going to retire gracefully then, but drag out the bloody painful death as long as there is breath in his body.

Im sure he’s not foolish enough to have any personal financial exposure, hence why he’s dragging it on and on.

Someone mentioned that DJ Models is only owned 50%  by DJ himself, any idea who this other investors is ?
