  1. That’s very helpful thank you. so just for clarity, with the central axle, did you put axle bushes on it or do you just drop the axle in the hole and allow gravity and it’s own weight to hold it in place? i was just wondering, if I could extend the drive shaft coming off of the motor one end then do you think I could drive all three axles??
  2. That sounds great, how did you get the middle axle to float? Did you solder the 1/8” axle bushes to the main white metal block? Could you maybe elaborate on what it means by floating axle for me? Surely if you solder the axle bushes to the main block then it’s not floating. sorry this is all new to me
  3. Hi Grasslands, I too have taken the plunge and bought a leader. have started cleaning the castings up and giving the body the once over to ‘iron out’ a couple of moulded details a didn’t like the look of but I was wondering what you did with the chassis? On the diagram included it shows an improved drive idea and wondered how would you get round the centre float axle? I’m new to the white metal castings and was looking for a little help.
  4. Wow that is an amazing model. Is there any chance of a couple more photos? I would love to make my own model in OO.
  5. All nice looking models. Here is a copy of photos of my GAP Z class I have been building on and off for a couple of months now. Not quite finished yet but just a clear coat decals and a final clear coat to go. Then just a touch of weathering.
  6. Hi WBF, I guess article is the wrong word but I have read a blog or two on your superb model. That is a shame as I do enjoy the construction of a kit form model. I guess I will just wait and see how Bachmanns turns out. Thank you SouthernWay
  7. Good evening, I have just seen pictures and the article on the Wild Boar 45T breakdown crane, all I can say is amazing. Do you by chance have any kits left or have any plans to produce any more kits? I'm a SR modeller. Kind regards SouthernWay
  8. Hi all, this thread is great but I have read it time and time again and can't seem to get my head around how this works. I like the idea of how Cambriancoaster controls his turntable but like Simond ask, how would you go about programming it so a button is preset to a road? And would there be a limit to the amount of roads that could be accommodated? Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. I also am having a hard time with what I would need to purchase to motorise the turntable? And you may think me a little dim, but how would you program the micro controller? Sorry everyone if this is taking you back to start but I'm as they say........confused.com!!!
  9. Hi Graham, first of all your model are amazing. Have been trying to follow bits of your articles from SEmG. I'm trying to produce a W class, Z class and a G16. By any chance do you have any photos of the cabs as I'm struggling to model this part? Kind regards Paul
  10. Wow, all these models on here are really great examples of the unusual. This topic has really inspired me to make a start on the Z class I have. However I have to finish the W class and make a start on the G16 and Merchant Navy I have in line first. W class is coming along though. It was the last one Chris (GAP) produced from the mould as he was breaking the mould up to get it out. Needless to say it did need a bit of cleaning up but I'm happy with the job I'm doing so far. Just out of interest does anyone have any pictures of the cab layout of the W class, Z class or G16 class??
  11. Just out of interest guys, I'm trying to produce a model of Eastbourne in the attic. Don't suppose anyway could point me in the right direction of a decent track diagram from say....the 50's/60's??
