  1. To look at the models out of the box, they certainly look nice. I Do like these TEA's. Never worth £75 but at £45 not too bad for recent/niche product. With respect to detail being wrong- Its Heljan! Just look how many Class 33/0 versions there are! Have you ever tried to re-number a Class 58? I did a Mainline Blue version and I couldn't put warning flashes where they should have been! Best Wishes, C.
  2. Yes, the likes of Cavalex, Realtrack, Revolution (etc.) are doing some wonderful models - but I was keeping them deliberately out to avoid going off topic. Remaining focused for once! Best wishes, C.
  3. Hi - Agree that trains should only have a taillamp at the rear, BUT - ultimately in 4mm scale there has to be certain compromises. Many people will probably run it round and round in one direction - just look at Bachmann Class 66's with one end with a coupler etc, so it will not be a problem for them - it will always be on the rear. Likewise if the train has no taillamp - again it is incorrect. Personally I think its better to have one - and if you really are not happy with it - cut it off as per Fran's comment. If your really unhappy about the idea - to put the PTA in perspective - you can always go to the likes of Bachmann and buy a POA/SSA box wagon with much less detail and no lamp - for a similar price! The Accurascale guys are producing some superb models, that many manufacturers cannot live with in terms of quality and price - and the lamp is just a really nice bonus to finish the wagons and make the "train". What with your comments on the taillamp and someone else "moaning"about the battery holder - then I think it must be disheartening to these guys - who are modellers themselves and genuinely putting their heart and soul in everything they do- to give modellers the best possible models, and even now they are facing criticism on RMweb. From a manufacturing perspective - its much easier not to have the hassle and cost of all the electrics, the risk of warranty repairs etc.. It hasn't even cost anyone a penny more than for a non-taillamp fitted version, and has sprung buffers which some companies tell us are really expensive to include! Yes there may be the odd improvement that can be made - no one is perfect, but ultimately we have a company here that is very serious about giving modellers the very best products they can and offer excellent value. Before complaining to AS about these things - I'd look at a good many other products that are inferior with respect to their detail, lack of features such as taillamps, livery mistakes and price. Likewise I am sure with Accurascales positive approach to modelling, and desire to continue offering the best - then they welcome feedback. But it needs to be in perspective - no wonder most companies don't bother corresponding to on RMweb. As with many things in this world - its often the few that spoil it for the majority. With Accurascale the modelling community on RMweb has exceptional opportunities, please don't abuse it, or we may loose it! Sometimes people just don't know what they've have had until its gone! Best Wishes to all, Chris.
  4. Had a couple of TEA's turn up today. Whilst I know they were exclusive etc., I think the wagon is very nice - but £45 is plenty for a relatively simple wagon. Probably expect to see them in EFE range in a couple of years time. But based on Bachmanns normal TEA price of £60, I would not expect them to be cheap! A diagram to aid where the parts go, would have been a useful inclusion. Best Wishes, Chris.
  5. Well if you look at the criticism of the Class 66, then maybe Hattons are going to go back to what they were good at - Selling Model Railways! Go to what Hattons were excellent at - and that were going to manufacturers and clearing them of all the slow moving stock and selling it at bargain prices whilst making a healthy profit for themselves.... Thats what has been the major success for Hattons and sent them go from strength to strength over the years. Best Regards, C.
  6. Patience is a virtue....... .....Still waiting for a "hoover"! Personally, I wouldn't worry too much as long as peoples orders are correct and the product arrives in tact. If you feel really bad you could send Guiness to drown our sorrows in! Nice Tiphook wagon.......cough! cough!
  7. Sounds safer! Injury sounds nasty - hopefully fully recovered now. As I were always taught when shunting - Watch what your doing - couplings can hurt you, but you cannot hurt them! Best Wishes, C.
  8. I think there is a clip of it in the Railfreight Today Series (quite old now!) - Scotland? There maybe something on youtube too? Best Wishes, C.
  9. Hi - sounds like they have not got around to your order yet. To my knowledge - all your account will do is change statue - i.e. To fulfilled, when packed and ready to go. Beyond that its then in the hands of the courier, and you will then get updates from them as you would for any other parcel. Best Wishes, Chris. P.S I would not worry - as Fran said Friday - just under half way through pre-orders! If people are getting a little twitchy - then the only other idea - apart from A/S being bombarded with "Where is PTA's emails?" - would be on a frequent basis (i.e every couple of days - post on here what invoice numbers upto - for example 123xx), so people have an approximation for how near or far they are away! But of course invoice numbers will include all product orders - there will be lots of Class 37, Class 92, KUA orders etc.. So they won't all be PTA's, but things will be a little slower due to Covid.
  10. Hi Al - personally I'd be more worried about removing the numbers first without messing up the bodysides. I can understand the issue on the Orange numbers - and I would certainly take a chance on Railtec - as Steve will work with you to get them to look as good as possible. I know when I had some Mainline Numbers done he had to print it on a white background. The next issue of course then with GBRF is which "Orange" - much earlier in the project I believe Hattons Dave illustrated the variations on different class members! Could certainly be a minefield! Although some the numbers are different to the Logo - 66737 is a good example. Best Wishes, Christopher.
  11. Think my Prestine £150 version is worse than that!
  12. Yes, Steve is a good bloke. Did me some silver numbers for a Mainline Class 58. Waiting patiently for another run of decals for 43186 in FGW! Best Wishes, Chris.
  13. Lots of Bachy 37's so far......... To readdress the balance slightly....Here is a Class 60 ready to pull away with my loaded iron ore beauties........ Loco ran round and coupled to the other end...... Sure it will look even better when the rest of the rake to arrive........... Remain safe everyone, Best Wishes, Chris.
  14. Hi - Thanks. Looks good. F/L seems to be a good one to spersonalise. Hows the hunt for greener numbers going? Hopefully a Colas would go pretty well too. Out of interest - Has anyone been really brave and tried on either GBRF or Barbie Livery? Best Wishes, Chris
  15. I didn't edit........ Best Wishes, Chris. P.S. Don't you get upsetting people by mentioning Mk5's!
  16. Testing the supply - which kept tripping and upsetting the ECO, which let to the conclusion that your 750DC wasn't tough enough? If your really in the mood - you could also have a substation on fire, just to emphasize the point! Best Wishes, Chris.
  17. Thanks for the "September" hint Roy. Didn't fancy trawling through 165 pages! P154 for anyone interested. Remain Safe, Best Wishes, Chris.
  18. Has anyone tried renumbering any Hattons Class 66's. Would have liked to do a Colas 66850, but unsure if the numbers come off easy or are stubborn! Many Thanks, Chris.
  19. "Anyhow, my determination not to buy a 92 as it is out of era remains implacable" - such defiance! I thought it were a couragous effort at that time of night and 10 were enough! There were a few others - conqueror of a cleaner, fearless use of latest technology etc.. Sorry to have missed your favourite! In hindsight I should have ended "Howe about it?" Suppose we better go from the illustrious "hoovers" to Loughborough "Dysons" Enjoy Roy! Best Wishes, Chris. P.S. If Fran ever wants a script writer for subtle hints - he knows where to find me! Haa! Haa! (oh dear!)
  20. Glad their loyal. Only the best for you guys eh? - your certainly renown for being the best at producing superb models! I hope you repay their loyalty by promising them a glorious new "hoover" or it could be your Achilles heel! Ajax is pretty good for repulse domestic chores too! Gotta look after the cleaner! I'm sure whatever you produce and whenever you announce it, it will be a valiant effort - as formidable as the KUA and a successful triumph like the tipplers appear to be! Accurascale are certainly flying like an eagle! Best Wishes, C.
  21. Could take a wee while for those at the back of the queue then! Looks like you will have a while to gloat and show off - at least weekend and early next week. I hope people aren't waiting to see them first before ordering - looking at the A/S website I think they may get disappointed, if they leave it much longer! Best Regards, C.
  22. So assuming its in invoice number order - what region of numbers are they upto? i.e 111xx, 116xx etc. (obviously some will be for other products!) But at least then people should have an idea of how near or far away they are away! Shame you couldn't have had them added to the first order - you would have had them all on route by now! Sure they will be worth the wait to those at the back of the queue! Best Regards, C.
  23. Nevermind emptying the cabinets..... Sure you will be emptying peoples pockets again (in a nice way!) Nearly time in a "normal" year for Warley......time for new announcements??? Remain Safe, Best Wishes, Chris. P.S. The office cleaner must know what is in the pipeline!
  24. Chris Grayling - Says it all really. At least they are practicing damage limitation - alleged to be paying giving him circa £100,000 per week for around 7 hours (work?)!!!! He only needs to walk in a room for everything to go tits up! Best Regards, C.
