You’re right, Graham, about it’s low abs, and I didn’t mind that either. What I disliked was that most of their pubs seemed to serve bottom of barrel cloudy measures. Hey ho.
Webster’s (Halifax) also had an Original, and that was the only beer of theirs that I liked. We avoided their pubs as well: like you intimated, beer has to be kept well to stand a chance of being liked!
Does anybody think the Lanky class 30 and 31s are well proportioned/ good looking/ dreadful? I think the latter, but don’t seem able to drag a photo here to prove the point. There was also a tank version of these, which was even worse!
Never seen an LSW, though they are seen infrequently in a different valley a couple of miles from my house. My neighbour says he has seen one in the garden, but I have my dubious hat on with that! Pity, I would like to believe it!
Surprise spotting whilst on walk between Bolton Abbey and Appletreewick: pair of pied flycatchers. Not exactly a garden bird, but had to mention it as I haven’t seen one in yoinks. Missed a Hobby that was doing the rounds on the moors above, though.
Fed up of trying to move my photo into this space here, so you’ll have to accept that tonight I shall be drinking Purple Moose ‘dark side of the moose’. Last one in the Co-op, otherwise I’d be drinking one tomorrow as
I have a very large cherry tree in the garden (49p bargain in Bolton Tesco mid 80s), and I have never managed to eat one cherry from it, birdies get loads every year.
