  1. Amanda, can you make sure these are included in the forthcoming free trade deal between UK and Oz, please? Smiley of some sort.
  2. They were bought out by Whitbread. The very handsome brewery is now flats and offices.
  3. You’re right, Graham, about it’s low abs, and I didn’t mind that either. What I disliked was that most of their pubs seemed to serve bottom of barrel cloudy measures. Hey ho.
  4. Webster’s (Halifax) also had an Original, and that was the only beer of theirs that I liked. We avoided their pubs as well: like you intimated, beer has to be kept well to stand a chance of being liked!
  5. Not ‘some’, only Original’ was any good; but, on the whole, we tried to avoid their pubs.
  6. Only if you’re wearing red rose-tinted glasses. Emoji not allowed , but I would have put one with glasses on.
  7. Oh, yes they did. That’s why some of the locos are in this worst-looking thread!
  8. Does anybody think the Lanky class 30 and 31s are well proportioned/ good looking/ dreadful? I think the latter, but don’t seem able to drag a photo here to prove the point. There was also a tank version of these, which was even worse!
  9. Never seen an LSW, though they are seen infrequently in a different valley a couple of miles from my house. My neighbour says he has seen one in the garden, but I have my dubious hat on with that! Pity, I would like to believe it!
  10. Surprise spotting whilst on walk between Bolton Abbey and Appletreewick: pair of pied flycatchers. Not exactly a garden bird, but had to mention it as I haven’t seen one in yoinks. Missed a Hobby that was doing the rounds on the moors above, though.
  11. Yum, I do like a good amber. Licks lips, swipes on sleeve.
  12. And now they’ve decided to nest here again. Only two pairs this year, but better than none.
  13. Fed up of trying to move my photo into this space here, so you’ll have to accept that tonight I shall be drinking Purple Moose ‘dark side of the moose’. Last one in the Co-op, otherwise I’d be drinking one tomorrow as
  14. I think the rebuilt Crostis look better than the standards. Not having smoke deflectors helps.
  15. There’s still one shop on Castle Hill selling the stuff. You’d know where it is it by spotting the crowd of men window watchers. Cheap too!
  16. At last, when I had given up hope, the swallows are investigating the barn. Better cover up the 0 gauge stuff!
  17. I have a very large cherry tree in the garden (49p bargain in Bolton Tesco mid 80s), and I have never managed to eat one cherry from it, birdies get loads every year.
  18. I am not a great fan of stouts, but I do like their oatmeal stout.
  19. I’m not sure whether I should buy Sam Smith’s IPA again—-it goes down so quick I haven’t got time to enjoy it!
  20. Don’t know how a 2011 post came up then,!? Ignore it!
  21. It’s caterpillar and insect time! It’s what the youngsters can digest more easily.
  22. Brill! The blue tit looks a tad bedraggled!
  23. I reckon Concertinas would be a good candidate for 3D printing. Does anybody do them?
