  1. Hello, I have a Marklin Hogwarts Castle Loco which I believe was made by Hornby. Can anyone tell me what traction tyres will fit the drive wheels and where I can get some? Thanks in advance for any help. Peter B.
  2. Thanks John, the coupling is in a box and is held in place with a plastic pin. The box has a plastic cover on it glued in place, but I have been able to remove the cover and remove the tension-lock coupling. However the box is too low so that a replacement Hornby Dublo style coupling would be below the one on a HD or Trix coach so would not couple. Next week I'll take the coupler off, photograph the box etc and post some pictures. Cannot do it this week, am getting ready for a two day exhibition next weekend called "Trains for Christmas". The tension-lock hook will will hook on to a HD coupling but not securely enough. Temporarily to make it more secure I have added some weight to the hook. It seems I may need to find a cranked plastic HD coupling Peter B.
  3. The pictures show my predicament. They show the tender and a Hornby Dublo coach and a Trix Twin coach. The Hornby Dublo picture would not upload, when I tried to add it, the system asked for a URL, hmmm...
  4. I want replace the tender tension-lock coupling on a Hornby Railways R2283 with a Hornby DUBLO plastic version one. Does anyone have any experience doing this on the R2283 or similar Tender? Some advice and/or methodology would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  5. I have a Hornby Railways R2283 Spam Can and need to remove the tender body. The service sheet does not have an exploded view of the tender. I believe it may be held in place by two self tapping Philips head screws. Could someone kindly advise me. Thanks very much. Peter B.
  6. PS. most Chinese made LEDs sold as E5 size do not fit in E5 holders. One needs to buy some E5.5 holders too which is what I did. Peter B.
  7. I did order some LEDs from LEDLights and installed one in a Trix Express 757 Pacific. I replaced the single bulb with a 90 degree LED, The loco has three lights on the front end, 1 in the smoke box door, and 2 on the buffer beam. There were 3 light pipes and the 90 degree bulb resulted in a great light spread that fed all the light pipes with equal intensity. Best regards, Peter B.
  8. Thanks for the tips on finding my posts, easy when you know how, eh?
  9. Thanks for the prompt replies, the need is indeed for Trix Coach lighting. I will investigate LEDLight dot com, the prices look OK to me, about 1 GPB each is OK by me, I can buy them in quantity. Best regards to all at RMWeb, Peter B. P.S. I had difficulty finding my post. I had to search for my member name. Is there a pinned post with general info about the forum, maybe I missed it?
  10. Hello, and thank you for approving my membership of the forum. I am looking for a source/supplier of LED bulbs for lighting the interiors of rolling stock and building. They need to be White, have a E5 Screw-in Base, Concave Lens and work on 12v-14v preferable DC or AC. I have plenty with convex dome shaped lens' that are fine for headlights and tail lights because the light spread is very narrow which is perfect for that function. Any suggestions for sources would be most welcome. I would prefer North America for convenience but the UK and any other location would be fine too. Thanks in advance, Peter B. PS. Collector/Operator of Hornby Dublo, Trix Twin, Trix Express, Marklin and many others.
