Oklahoma, aka the boring Wild West
  • Interests
The Victorian GWR, late LNWR, and railways in general. African steam locomotives, early Asian railways. Currently scratchbuilding a 2 inch gauge freelance GWR style 4-4-0.
    O gauge Bassett Lowke
    O gauge live steam engines
    Ship models
    Cooking & food in general
    Vintage aircraft, particularly flying boats.
Stationary steam, full size and miniature.

I’m also one of the youngest horologists (clockmakers) in the world, and that often carries over into my models which are typically in the style of the early live steam models made through the 1840s to the 1870s.

Victoria Sponge cake and old technical books are also honorable mentions. Bread pudding also deserves a mention.

  1. Douglas,

Have you thought of building U.K. style locos etc using easy to get In the us Lionel or Marx drives ? Could build from pvc pipe and plastic card. Then paint to look right.  Also I have some coarse O parts for you to have if you want them. Send me a p.m. I can’t seem to find where to send a p.m. on here tonight.

I can’t say I have Phil, as right now I’ve embarked on a quest to revive my live steam Bassett Lowke mogul. Here’s a link to my new workbench thread.

I’ve done quite a bit of kitbashing locomotives in 4mm oo broad gauge, but never o gauge.
