  1. I have over 250 Laisdcc fitted locomotives mainly Plux22 and some 8 and 21 pin decoders, never had a single failure or issue.
  2. It is a shame the retailer did not check and service the model before sale.
  3. Hello Keith A couple of issues, could be the brushes are contaminated and need replacement or the magnet on the motor is weak. Is the motor getting warm? Kevin
  4. Being a collector I am prepared to accept it is far from perfect, all have their shortcomings but the drive mechanism of the Trix is superb. I was expecting it to be heavier than it turned out. The main issue for me is the chimney is a little too tall but I can live with that.
  5. I will try to do a short video tomorrow with some Hornby Pullman or LNER teaks.
  6. I have put my Trix Scotsman alongside my Hornby models so the size difference can be viewed.
  7. Thank you for your reply. I have a DCC concepts voltmeter connected to my layout and borrowed a CS3 system to test. The meter displayed a track voltage of 19 - 19.5 volts during a brief test although everything worked fine.
  8. I am considering purchasing a Marklin CS3 controller to run my layout, the CS3 has a fixed track voltage of 19 volts. My collection is a mixture of Marklin Trix Roco and Piko Mfx and DCC locomotives both 2 and 3 rail. I expect there will be no issues with Voltage using my Marklin models, but will 19 volts be too high and cause damage for the Roco and Piko models. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  9. I placed my order when it was first announced but now on seeing the videos I may cancel. The chimney does not look correct to my eyes, the smoke is poor compared to my existing Marklin/Trix dynamic smoke models and the sound seems flat although that could be down to the sound recording of the videos I watched. I am sure of one thing the build quality and running will be good.
  10. I really enjoyed this, it had me hooked. I love Pete's enthusiasm and how he encourages youngsters in to the hobby. As he said kids go home and say dad let's get the train set out! Well done More4.
  11. Thank you Nigel. I found switching back EMF off made a difference and the motor ran without buzzing. I think I will leave this particular model as DCC ready and operate on DC.
