  1. Hi John, Thanks for your input. Sorry it's taken so long, I thought I would get a email prompt if someone replied. You are absolutely right. What I was after were to compare settings for different sounds, but especially the motor settings as Farish would know the specific motor characteristic they have used. Maybe I'm being over concerned, but with it being a coreless motor, I thought I had better ask. Many thanks Arthur
  2. I was not quick enough to buy the Farish sound fitted version and have fitted a sound chip to the non sound fitted model. I was wondering if anyone has the sound fitted version and would be willing to email me a scan of the paperwork with the CV values and details of the chip Farish have fitted please? If indeed this information is available. I have fitted a Zimo MX658N18. Any experiences with the sound fitted loco would also be much appreciated. Many thanks Arthur Hodgett
  3. Happy to go with Dave's cut down suggestion. Is it going to be put on DToS web site as an option so we can order the bits or change our order to the bits we want? How do we get the revised offer if it's agreed to all the N gauge market? I feel the HST prototype maybe missed out due to marketing not being broadcast enough. Regards Arthur Hodgett
  4. Just a quick query, I don't want to bother them with all the posting they have to do, but as my order was under number 200 I thought I would get it quickly. Looking at the latest news it appears that as I ordered light bars and have 4 separate order numbers, deposit, final payment etc, does this mean I need to receive 4 confirmatory emails before I even look for the postman? Hope I've got this in the right place, if not please forgive me!
  5. Happy also to buy in bags of 50 if you decide to do them in bulk. If this is successful I would like the alternative Dapol couplers (Non magnetic) ones as well please. Regards Arthur
  6. From what I can find out these four coaches were in Blue/Grey for about 5 years at least from 1979ish to 1984/5ish. Does anyone have exact dates?
  7. I think Dapol produced 15 different variants of the 86, say even 250 of each one is a lot for the N Gauge Market, around 3,750. It's hard to tell whether there were too many produced as we don't know how may sold in say the first 3 months. My main worry is that it probably means no Pendolino and no class 92, which is a real shame. I also think lack of joined up thinking could be a problem in that more catenary wasn't made. The existing model is very good and difficult to break it should have been followed up by other variants of catenary. I don't know much about moulds, but I would have thought one mould could have made quite a few different catenary mast variants at the same time.
  8. I wonder if Dapol have been given permission to do it in OO by the N gauge society as part of the deal to do it first in N? I wonder also how much of the costs of photographing, CAD in N etc would save if it was blown up to OO? i Neil, There is every chance of this as I have started to construct my own from brass! The RTR guys will wait until I have burnt my finger, sloshed on some paint, sworn at the lining and cut out all the Ws and 1s from my decal sheets on and attempt to get just ten of the little devils to stick... Just as the last construction post on Little Didcot goes up then out with the announcement - you watch! All the best, Castle
