  1. So, you compare the results of no added light photo's taken without reflectors, with outside shots!? Okay.... just to get a different opinion, as you seem to be very opinionated against anything that is outside the standard sphere, my friend who is a prize winning photographer saw my pics and said that: 1- the depth of field was very good, better than his SLR's ever could manage. And 2- that the low light results were very much better than his digital Leica could manage. So, show me your inside, no added light other than 2! 4 watt LEDs with better resolution or quality.
  2. The new firmware has made the early glitches a non issue according to M3 magazine. And RAW? I can't edit RAW in my tablet anyway. So that is also a non issue for me. It is rated 4 out of 5 by me, and that is what counts. Besides, tbe ratings on newer reviews are in the 4 out of 5 range. It is very suitable for the job I need it for. Edit: the lag and lock up are almost all on iOs.
  3. No, that's wrong...I have used other cameras, and they are NOT better than this. This gives the same quality pics as the (much more expensive) SONY RX100. And the glitches?? Locking up?
  4. My wife had some good luck as she found it on sale for £120 including the case.
  5. In higher resolution: I will try some outdoor pics when the weather gets better... :-)
  6. HI again! I took a couple of test shots today. I used no additional lights and in the photo size that is standard when transferred to the phone. Feels like it's got potential.
  7. Merry Christmas! I got a new camera as a gift from my wife. [] I have used my old Sony DSC320 for several years, but it has starting to show its age... The new one is a Sony DSC QX100: It uses my smartphone as a display, and if I mount the lenz separately, I can be 30 feet away with the phone to control it. Very useful feature. It is a very nice piece of hardware which will be very fun to use more. Here is a test pic from this mornings "Julotta" (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julotta) Anyone tried it for model photos?
  8. It looks very nice! It'll be very fun to follow this build!
  9. I am now building the benchwork for this bilevel HOn3 layout (with staging underneath). It is 450x350 cm. It is freelanced with a Colorado setting in the 30's. Any input on improvements would be appreciated. Thanks.
  10. No, they are not included in the app, but I use the roco 10787 settings. It works perfectly.
  11. No the CS version is current detecting. The OPTO uses reeds.
  12. After the latest update it works perfect!I can very much recommend the Digikeijs detector! http://www.digikeijs.com/dr4088rb-cs-16-channel-r-bus-feedback-module.html At €60 it is a very cheap alternative to ROCO 787 plus reeds. The Digikeijs detector handles 16 blocks where the Roco only handles 8 blocks at a cost of €92....
  13. If you wonder what the icons for the functions really means, I now got a cheat-sheet from Roco: :-)
  14. Thanks! Here is the peeling paint method which is actually very easy. Before construction begins, I take the stripwood and give them a good brushing lengthwise with a steel wire brush. Then I brush on a stain that is made from alcohol, india ink, white ink and brown acrylic paint. Try it on scrap wood first to try the colour and strength of it. It is good practice to brush it on instead of soaking it as it gives more variety in the different planks. Let dry! The next step is to give the planks a quick rub with fine steel wool to remove the fuzz. Now, take two small cups. One with low odour turpentine, and one with white water based paint. I use Vallejo water based polyurethane. Lay out the wood on a paper and soak one plank with turpentine and then directly(!) brush on white paint. The paint will pearl up if enough turp is in the wood. Then brush it lengthwise and you will see how it will start to settle at the surface. Stop brushing when it looks right! Then drag the brush along the edges of the plank to remove unnecessary paint build up. Finished!
  15. Hi all! I just finished the build of Sierra wests Hotel in HO. I made very few changes away from the manual. The peeling paint that is described in it was a bit too uncontrolled (sort of...). So I made the peeling paint by brushing on turpentine and then brush on Vallejo white paint. I really like the way it turned out. Take a look at the pics and let me know what you think about it. I added a few figures. Thanks for watching!
  16. I have another problem. I bought a Digikeijs occupancy detector, as the latest appp update included the option for using them. I installed it, and it (sort of) works.... When driving into the detected track, the icon lights up only to go out a few seconds later. If I then press back to the app start screen and press the play icon, the icon is lit up (as it should be). Strange....
  17. Where do I get some of the green track power plugs? I found some on ebay, but paying €18 shipping is way to steep for an item that can't weigh more than 2 grams.....
  18. I found the problem!!! After the update the app can't handle extended adresses! I realized it when trying the demo loco. Then the green throttle bar and the lit icons worked. After changing CV29 to short adresses on my locos, all was back to normal! Thanks for the link to the manual, but I can't open it.... It is a bin file?!?
  19. Can someone mail me an original APK?
  20. Btw, has anyone installed a Digikeijs DR4088RB-CS 16-channel R-BUS feedback module on the z21? If so, which preset setting should be used?
  21. Hi all. Has anyone else problems with the latest Android app update? I updated a few days ago, and since installing it on my Android units I have had some issues. The green speed staple is gone, and so is the lit up function icons. Sure, the ability to get occupancy detection on the screen rocks, but the glitch is annoying.....
  22. A few more pics of my latest build: I really like the way real glass looks.
  23. My new engine house! Link:http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/100444-fsm-two-stall-engine-house-in-187/
  24. I will try mailing him. ☺ It was strange as some items could be shipped.
