RMweb Premium OnTheBranchline Posted July 24, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 24, 2016 Hello everyone, Using a Hawksworth coach, is it possible to create a different type of coach using the Comet sides available? Assuming you had the stomach to cut up a model like that. Thank you in advance.
jwealleans
It works for LNER carriages, so I can see no reason why it shouldn't for others.
exet1095
All of the 64' Hawksworth corridor stock is modelled by Hornby except for the conversion to the dynamometer coach and the four sleepers, all of which sit on six-wheel bogies.

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't Comet the only one who makes the six wheel bogies?

Mike G
Something like this? Got shot of the underframe as well as the sides, Bill Bedford sprung bogies. I know I must be mad!. Mike
Castle
Hi All, Assuming you had the stomach to cut up a model like that... They just sort of, fell off... It’s actually fairly easy to do - sharp blade up under the gutter a few times and then the same in the corners. The plastic is quite soft and easy to cut. All of the 64' Hawksworth corridor stock is modelled by Hornby except for the conversion to the dynamometer coach and the four sleepers, all of which sit on six-wheel bogies. True! This is going to be one of the four sleepers! You need to make a few modifications to the floor and the trussing to make it fit. A report on Little Didcot will be made once it’s finished! All the best, Castle
