37114
Hi, Please can I check is the POP1 train an early variant of the test train in the photo ( below) i.e. pre cladding being added or completely different? Thanks 1
apt-e
Hi, Yes, its the first variant of the test train. This was to test apt-e technology, the variant cladded train you showed was the later PoP 2 train, which was used to test apt-p technology. To keep it simple. I hope this helps. Regards Paul.

Gibbo675
Hi Folks, Just for fun here is an N Gauge APT-E that I built a couple of years back. It is motorised using a Grafar 91 and some modified Mk2 bogies. Gibbo 3

E1/t bogie still needs a bit of work. Hi Paul, I'm sure you could print an APT-E easily enough ! The one I built was made from plasticard, the class 91 chassis had a bogie removed from one end and was also filed down to fit inside the body of the power car. Quite a lot of lead was placed in the nose to allow for traction of the power bogie in the motored end, in the other end the bogie had the gears removed as it is used as a dummy under the other end. The windows were painted on using BR dark roof grey and three coats of gloss varnish, they masked over for the silver, additional masking was then applied and then the blue was applied. The effect was that the windows had a definite edge to them due to paint thickness against the masking. Tilting was a bit beyond my abilities in 2mm scale ! apt-e
Hi all, I have completed all the latest round of PoP 1 00 gauge orders so if any one wants a model, now is the time to drop me a line. Thanks to the people who have ordered a model, more than I ever thought who would be interested. N gauge pop1 still pressing on with, but also hsfv1, lab4 Hastings and pop2 in 00 and n gauge. Had a request for 0 gauge bogies for apt-e so also going to make a pop 1 in that scale also. Anyone interested in that, please drop me a line. Plenty to go on with. Stay safe everyone. Regards Paul.
