grahame
It's often said that oldie period road vehicles are not available in N gauge but that is not quite true. Finding examples is certainly not as difficult as trying to build up a suitable stock of vehicles from the 30 year period 1970-2000. So here's a few oldie ones that I had (now sold) - all made from kits. From left to right are : Ford 7V SWB flat-back (1937-49); Bedford WLG SWB tipper truck (1931-35); German Opel Blitz bus (1930s?); and Morris Cowley saloon (1927-30). The Blitz bus is a Gramodels cast resin kit while the other three are R Parker cast white metal kits. G 6
RMweb Gold queensquare Posted May 7, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 7, 2019 Grahame is absolutely right. Many of the kits are a bit long in the tooth now but with some work can be made it nice models. All of those pictured are based on kits - some more heavily modified than others! 6
Marly51
Some lovely models Grahame and Queensuare! I am working on an N Gauge North Highland layout based during the late 1930s period. Still looking for some oil tanker lorries for two oil depots. Marlyn

How about using a suitable R Parker model for the cab (they have quite a fews 1930s vehicles in their range including trucks) and scratchbuild a tanker body to fit or bash/extend the chassis? G I was thinking that would be a possibility, Grahame. My local car mechanic is a vintage vehicle enthusiast and has offered to look out some old photographs from his collection, as well!
