RMweb Premium Blandford1969 Posted February 28, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 28, 2020 This is a long shot, I have three Roxey Mouldings LSWR corridor coaches. I was hoping to build them into one of the last sets of either set 348, 406 or 42, which lasted into the mid 50s. I found that some have 57’ BTK’s which are of course not available in model form, which ruled out some of the sets. You will see that some there is just one coach missing. Looking at the SMEG it has a useful link to many SR sets, http://www.semgonline.com/coach/sets.html, unfortunately it does not have any of these sets . 343 (last photo I have seen is 6th June 1953) 348 (last photo 30th May 1955) 349,402/4/5/6/415/417/420/421/ 422 (last photo 14/5/55) - GR Weddell's LSWR Coaches in the 20th Centaury has some details, but does not have lists of each of the sets. From the book I can find the Composites listed below, but cannot find any details on the diagram numbers or coach numbers of the brakes, which following normal practice would probably have been a BCK. From Weddell’s book and a Carriage Working Appendix for London I have got a few of the sets. Set 341 BTK diag 1227 (sr 130/138) 3133 54’ compo diag 1225 (sr 277) 5075 set 343 BTK 54' Tri-composite diag 1690 (5086) BTK 56’ diag 2455 like 2207 but (steel panelled) 3142 set 348 BTK 54' comp diag 1214 (no 5123) BTK set 349 set 402 BTK diag 1568 3096 54' compo dig 1225 (5083) BTK diag 1227 3140 set 405 BTK 56' diag 1568 (3096) 54’ Tri compo diag 1690 5095 BTK 56' diag 1568 (3102) set 406 BTK Diag 3096)2207 57' 3159 54' comp diag 1214 (no 5115) 57' diag 3151 (no3168) set 415 BTK diag 1227 3131 set 417 BTK 54' comp diag 1214 (no 5125) BTK set 420 56’ BTK diag 2207/ 2455 3155 54’ Tri compo diag 1866 5097 56’ BTK diag 2207/ 2455 3158 set 421 BTK diag 3151 57; BTK (3173) 54' comp diag 1225 (no 5081) BTK diag 3151 57' BTK (3176) set 422 BTK 56' diag 1568 (3110) BTK 56' diag 1227 3139 Does anyone know of any Central Division Carriage working appendixes for the late 40s or early 50’s which might fill in the missing blanks and hopefully give a suitable set. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Kind regards Duncan
RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted February 28, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 28, 2020 Robert Carroll can help. Membership (free) of his BR Carriage Working Group includes access to all sorts of files. Set 348 was 3166, 5123, 3177, for example.

chris45lsw
LSWR panelled corridor stock is a bit of a minefield - there were seven diagrams of BTK, mainly 56ft but one was 57ft and six diags of CK, the majority 54ft but one was 52ft and one 56ft. The 3-sets extant in Winter 1949/50 were (SR diagram in brackets):- 340 3144 (140) 5120 (282) 3169 (134) 341 3133 (131) 5075 (277) 3137 (131) 343 3100 (131) 5086 (278) 3142 (140) 348 3166 (134) 5123 (282) 3177 (134) 349 3104 (130) 5080 (277) 3163 (134) 406 3159 (140) 5115 (282) 3168 (134) 421 3173 (134) 5081 (277) 3176 (134) The diagrams in these sets were:- BTK (RHK = right hand corridor / LHK = left hand) 130 56ft RHK 131 56ft LHK 134 57ft RHK 140 56ft RHK sliding doors to luggage comp't CK 277 54ft 1113333 278 54ft 3311133 282 54ft 1111333 Chris KT
