Steamport Southport
Browsing through the channels just found this programme full of colour archive film of BR in the mid 1960s. Peaks at St Pancras, XP64, Deltics at Kings Cross, Castles, Panniers and Warships at Paddington, etc. Seems to be professionally shot footage that possibly wasn't used. In that much of it seems like offcuts. On one of those channels that repeat all the time. Channel 23 if on Freeview. Jason
RMweb Gold Joseph_Pestell Posted May 8, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 8, 2020 Just watched this too. Some great footage but a few gaffes in the commentary - as usual. Why don't they get them checked out? I was surprised to see a Warship at Marylebone. And another interesting shot was a blue/grey Mk1 behind a Castle leaving Paddington. The Hook Continental had an eclectic mix of stock: a Gresley Buffet, a Mk1 FO and something that I did not recognise for certain but perhaps a Cravens prototype(?). Classsix T
It's on again now. Great stuff. 17 hours ago, Joseph_Pestell said: The Hook Continental had an eclectic mix of stock: a Gresley Buffet, a Mk1 FO and something that I did not recognise for certain but perhaps a Cravens prototype(?). I wondered if the coach in the Hook was the prototype coach that was (when I rode it) at the SVR, vinyled in faux teak? C6T. This one, E3083, still at the SVR but now in BR maroon: Alun Hughes on Flickr. Edited May 9, 2020 by Classsix T Coach gen
