Andy WD
Does anyone know if there are drawings extant of GCR 4 wheel Open Carriage Trucks, or even if there have been any models available? I'd like to try and work a scene of artillery loading similar to that pictured at Rugby GCR Station on the Warwickshire Railways website. https://www.warwickshirerailways.com/lner/gcrcs54.htm
RMweb Premium Dava Posted October 10, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 10, 2020 I’m sure the GCR Society would be your friend, I’m not a member. George Dow’s ‘Great Central’ volume 2 has a simple drawing of a MSLR carriage truck, no’s 632-4 & 638-41, with 16’6” length 9’6” wheelbase, so shorter than those later ones in the photo. Quick pic attached below. Dava

RMweb Premium t-b-g Posted October 11, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 11, 2020 I can't lay my hands on my copy but I recall seeing a good drawing in "Modeller's Backtrack". A quick internet search found this, which might be a handy reference. You need the Oct 1992 edition. A resin kit was produced in O gauge but I am not aware of any kits in 4mm. http://www.brmna.org/xref/GOODLNER.HTM

The drawing and accompanying text were both by Peter Bunce, who as I recall (I was a member at the time) was a prominent member of the GCRS and a regular contributor to the society journal, "Forward" Jim 1

jwealleans
I believe there was a GCRS member offering 7mm resin cast wagon bodies for sale through the Society. He did an OCT as part of that range.
