Ruston
I have never used this type of decoder before. I have always used Zimo decoders and as they usually go into kit-built locomotives I cut any plugs off and solder the wires individually. I was surprised to find on the Loksound a set of individual wires AND a thin strip thing with a plug on the end. Can the loose wires be used OR the plug and if I use the wires can I cut the strip and plug off and vice-versa? Thanks.
RMweb Premium boxbrownie Posted January 13, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 13, 2021 (edited) Is it a new decoder? I have a Loksound 3.5 which has the 21 pin connector but also has the “free wires” connected to the contacts on the reverse of the board. And yes either the wires or it can be plugged into a 21 pin connector to work, I did it. Edited January 13, 2021 by boxbrownie
Ruston
Thanks for the replies. I have discovered that the plug must be used and the other wires are only for adding a stay alive. Can someone please tell me which CV controls the overall sound volume?
