RMweb Premium nightstar.train Posted April 10, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 10, 2021 Can anyone point me towards a supplier of wheels and axles for n gauge scratch building? Both coach/wagon wheels and engine driving wheels. Thanks
RMweb Premium Kris Posted April 10, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 10, 2021 The 2mm association does coach and wagon wheels with n gauge treads. Separate axles are available for these. Many model shops carry Farish axels and wheels for wagons and coaches. DCC supplies offer Dapol spares including wheels and axels for wagons and coaches. Some shops will have stocks of PD marsh wheels for wagons and coaches. Engine driving wheels are hard to find. If you are lucky you might find some Beaver wheels on eBay. Gareth Collier
For coach/wagon wheels there are some from Farish and Parkside/PECO. There has been no supplier of loco wheels since Beaver packed up 20-30 years ago. You can get some Farish spares direct from Bachmann or BR Lines and some Dapol from DCC Supplies. For locos it's usually a case of buying non runners and cannibalising the chassis. If you went for 2mm finescale there's a large range from the 2mm Scale Association but they're not designed to run on N gauge track.
RMweb Premium nightstar.train Posted April 12, 2021 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted April 12, 2021 Thanks for the help guys, slightly disappointing though. I ask as it’s for scratch building stuff in OO9 scale. Looking for broken n gauge locos seems to be the way forward.
