RMweb Gold john new Posted July 28, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 28, 2021 (edited) I bought one non-DCC and a separate chip. In fitting the chip I have found the chassis, albeit a beautiful runner on DC, the daftest design ever when you have to take the body off as you have to dismantle most of it to get at the body retaining screws. To save reinventing the wheel has anyone done a modification so that the body can be fixed on/removed without having to take the chassis apart? I am hoping to make that mod’ but if there is an existing design floating about I can use to do it that will be great. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Yes, thanks to her instructions I have installed decoders in four of mine without major incident (the fifth came DCC fitted). Take it slowly and carefully and it shouldn’t cause problems. The putting the keeper plate back in temporarily is a light-bulb suggestion; blindingly obvious once you see it.
