Mike Storey
Thought people might be interested in what is going with the Corris Station Re-build. https://www.corris.co.uk/news/press-releases/ There is also slightly worrying news that the Falcon locomotive new build has been suspended for a while, due to a shortage of funds. 1
Mike Storey
This pic is particularly interesting. The foundations for the new traverser at the end of the new station platform, to allow locos to be round round. There was insufficient room for a normal turnback, if the platform lengths had to stay as required. I believe (but stand to be corrected!) that this will become the only traverser in current use, not only on narrow gauge lines but on any railway line in the UK, outside of a workshop. 2
Mike Storey
A (modeller's) view of what the original station looked like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yiqW3s6aiOY
Mike Storey
The new traverser is installed, and the track is now being laid up to meet it. https://www.corris.co.uk/news/photographs/photographs-taken-between-25th-27th-february-2022/

That one is indeed a beast, serving eight tracks in the North Rail Terminal since 2013! The Corris version is not quite as sophisticated.
