The show you how stands are there to solve many aspects of railway modelling ie track laying, wiring, baseboard construction. All you have to do is ask questions. Really successful day with 54 members/visitors coming along, thats one short of our record number. All enjoyed playing trains on the 5 layouts, with the show you how stands busy as well. The sales stand did extremely well and the buffet was soon devoured. Previous figure was 55. A really good afternoon, excellent layouts and displays. Lots of goodies being sold on. All went home happy. We do it all again on Saturday 8th January 2022. Stan/ I’d echo Stan’s comment above - an enjoyable afternoon. As a Group meeting rather than a more formal exhibition I find there’s plenty of time to talk in depth with those exhibiting and / or selling, as well as the general chat and catch-up. For example, I was given a very helpful and comprehensive soldering tutorial by Allen from Worsley Works (as advertised by Stan in earlier posts). It was the first time I’d picked up a soldering iron in over thirty years and the first time I’d tried soldering brass, so I came away both educated and encouraged it’s something I could tackle one day. I’d assumed it was a skill that would be way beyond my level. I also picked up some painting tips for some of the HOn30 kits I already have queued up from the 009 Society member who sold them to me a couple of meetings ago, and got some ideas for buildings and ballasting from one of the regular exhibitors who has an H0e layout. With 57 attendees, several new comers, but we had several regulars missing due to illness/holidays. Great Layouts in 009, 5.5mm and 7mm NG. The show you how stands were kept busy and the sales stands were ticking over with cash and goods changing hands. A big thanks to the guys who helped in the kitchen and Mo for the excellent homemade cakes, which went down well with the Cotthams pies and M&S sausage rolls. We look forward to doing it all again on Saturday 21st May at Corpus Christi Church Hall, Rainford WA11 8BY and we start at 12.30pm. Super layouts on display backed up by the show you how stands. Sales tables did brisk business with our latest Conway Castle 3D printed loco selling very well. The buffet was snapped up quickly. Next Corpus Christi gathering will be Saturday 16th July starting at 12.30pm.
