steve1023
Hi. I have this book on my Christmas list also, so can't directly answer but Pip Dunn on his Twitter feed said some very complimentary things about it - best I can offer you.
RMweb Gold Strathwood Posted December 4, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 4, 2021 Don't know if it helps you, but we have sold over one hundred of them to our customers, nobody has come back with a harsh word. https://strathwood.co.uk/products/the-beaten-track-the-traction-and-extremities-of-britains-rail-network-1970-1985?_pos=1&_psq=beat&_ss=e&_v=1.0 Conversations with the publishers suggest sales have been brisk and that it may sell out quickly another promising sign, perhapsz. caradoc
Just received my copy this morning (thanks Strathwood) and after a quick glance through I would say it is absolutely excellent, masses of pictures from all over the country, with very informative captions, although this does mean that some of the photos are a bit small. The only thing I would take any issue with is the title, given what and where it covers the book should surely be called 'Off the beaten track' ?!! NB the intro mentions that a second volume has been commissioned, which is excellent news. 2 1
