Yes she is, but for the LU150 event she has been masquerading as 6141 with an 81a shedplate to make her a London Engine. I think according to the EOR website 4141 actually spent her entire working life around Gloucester.

Details of the September runs are now on the LTM website.

Tube 150 anniversary celebrations on the Metropolitan line

Date: 7-8 September 2013

Experience the golden age of steam with the return of the newly restored Metropolitan Steam Locomotive No. 1 to the Metropolitan line, along with a GWR Pannier Locomotive & GWR Prairie Locomotive and experience first-hand what riding a steam train is really like!  Customers can travel in either the recently restored ex Metropolitan Jubilee Coach, dating back to the 1890s or ex British Rail 1950s coaches.  A number of journeys will be taking place between Amersham and Harrow-on-the Hill on the 7 and 8 September, as part of the 150th anniversary celebrations of the world’s first underground in January 1863.

Each train formation will consist of a Steam Locomotive from the list above, Sarah Siddons Electric Locomotive, ex British Rail 1950s coaches, ex Metropolitan Jubilee coach and a Class 20 Diesel.

On Sunday 8 September a free heritage bus service will be provided by the Friends of the London Transport Museum from Amersham station to Amersham Old Town where a number of activities will be taking place, as part of Amersham Heritage Day.

A new model Pannier Tank L94 will be launched for sale at the event. Prices TBC.

Due to the nature of running heritage trains, changes in the timetable or cancellations may be necessary.

Tickets

Tickets will be available for sale from Monday 29 July.

Tickets are priced between £15 and £45. A limited selection of tickets will be available to purchase at Amersham station from 11.00 each day, however due to high demand we cannot guarantee availability for all journeys.

You can call the booking office on 0207 565 7298 to receive up to date information on ticket availability.

Please note that children under the age of 11 are not allowed to travel in the Jubilee Coach.

Interesting that a model of L94 is being released.

Oh no, I managed to actually get a saturday of work for the neasden open day which now I've got to try and arrange another, just hope its not any weekend in september as I've had to book my holidays to attend exhibitions even though its not really a holiday.

Would like another LT pannier (saves me repainting one) but doubt I'll be able to attend the running weekend.

Just a reminder that this weekend and next Wednesday is the Buckinghamshire Railway Center's Discover Forgotten Metro-land event. Times of buses from Aylesbury Vale Parkway is on http://www.bucksrailcentre.org/forms/Aylesbury%20Vale%20Parkway%20to%20Quainton%20Road%20Bus%20Service.pdf

Pictue of Brill No. 1 from the LTM facebook https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/45239_10151592672979353_1252467558_n.jpg

Times for the September SOTM from the LTM ticket site:
10:22
11:32 not Saturday
13:32 not Saturday
15:32
17:32
I'm guessing that the 11:32 & 13:32 on the Saturday will be the staff & VIP trains. I'm also guessing that like the May runs the 10:22 will be Wembley Park to Amersham steam hauled, the 17:32 Amersham to Harrow-On-The-Hill diesel hauled and the rest will be Amersham to Harrow hauled by a diesel and the return by steam.

I was also pleased that it was our 6 week old Daughter's first ride on a train, not that she will remember...

According to the Bluebell Railway e-newsletter L150 will be involved in "Santa on the Met" on 8th December and some events in 2014.

L150 is currently being re-tubed at the Flour Mill, and will be returning to us after its "Santa on the Met" duties on 8 Dec. It is planned to stay for 2014, with some some short visits to London Underground.

Yes, one of the railway mags mentioned them, but said they would be mince pie specials. Running between Harrow and Uxbridge IIRC.

Quote from http://www.mayorwatch.co.uk/transport-museum-offers-rare-steam-rides-on-the-metropolitan-line/201328239

Transport Museum offers rare steam rides on the Metropolitan line   For the first time since 1992 and possibly the last time ever, London Transport Museum will be running steam trains to Uxbridge along the Metropolitan line on Sunday 8th December.

Recently restored Metropolitan Locomotive No.1 and the Victorian ‘Jubilee’ carriage 353 will team up for the last time this year in a fitting finale to the 150th anniversary of the London Underground.

These special journeys will take place between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Uxbridge and are a rare opportunity to experience steam along this particular route and the last time this is likely to happen on this section of the line.

Metropolitan Loco No.1 will pull the train from Harrow-on-the-Hill to Uxbridge, while passengers will have the chance to witness the power of a Class 20 diesel on the return leg.

They can choose between travelling on the meticulously restored 1892 ‘Jubilee’ Carriage or London Transport Museum’s 1950s ex-British Rail 4TC coaches.

There will be five trips with prices as below:

  • Metropolitan ‘Jubilee’ carriage 353: £25 (Please note that children under the age of 11 are not allowed to travel in the 353 coach)
  • Former British Railways 1950s 4TC carriages: £15

The ticket price includes a free limited edition souvenir brochure. To guarantee a seat, tickets can be booked at www.ltmuseum.co.uk and on 0207 565 7298.
