chrisf
Nice pics, L49, but one query: is not 4141 the correct identity of the loco? My understanding was that there is only one 61xx in preservation, viz 6106 at Didcot. Chris
L49
Yes she is, but for the LU150 event she has been masquerading as 6141 with an 81a shedplate to make her a London Engine. I think according to the EOR website 4141 actually spent her entire working life around Gloucester.

RMweb Gold RThompson Posted July 26, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 26, 2013 Oh no, I managed to actually get a saturday of work for the neasden open day which now I've got to try and arrange another, just hope its not any weekend in september as I've had to book my holidays to attend exhibitions even though its not really a holiday. Would like another LT pannier (saves me repainting one) but doubt I'll be able to attend the running weekend.

298
Quainton Road on Sunday- we managed to ride in 353 but didn't have as much with Brill No.1 as it was cape'd on us twice. I was also pleased that it was our 6 week old Daughter's first ride on a train, not that she will remember...

The reason being that Tesco will have run out of them by then, and be selling Easter eggs. Stewart

Paul.Uni
Quote from http://www.mayorwatch.co.uk/transport-museum-offers-rare-steam-rides-on-the-metropolitan-line/201328239 Transport Museum offers rare steam rides on the Metropolitan line For the first time since 1992 and possibly the last time ever, London Transport Museum will be running steam trains to Uxbridge along the Metropolitan line on Sunday 8th December.Recently restored Metropolitan Locomotive No.1 and the Victorian ‘Jubilee’ carriage 353 will team up for the last time this year in a fitting finale to the 150th anniversary of the London Underground. These special journeys will take place between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Uxbridge and are a rare opportunity to experience steam along this particular route and the last time this is likely to happen on this section of the line. Metropolitan Loco No.1 will pull the train from Harrow-on-the-Hill to Uxbridge, while passengers will have the chance to witness the power of a Class 20 diesel on the return leg. They can choose between travelling on the meticulously restored 1892 ‘Jubilee’ Carriage or London Transport Museum’s 1950s ex-British Rail 4TC coaches. There will be five trips with prices as below: Metropolitan ‘Jubilee’ carriage 353: £25 (Please note that children under the age of 11 are not allowed to travel in the 353 coach) Former British Railways 1950s 4TC carriages: £15 The ticket price includes a free limited edition souvenir brochure. To guarantee a seat, tickets can be booked at www.ltmuseum.co.uk and on 0207 565 7298.
