RMweb Gold McRuss Posted September 3, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 3, 2014 Today I continued with the construction work, now the second building is nearly fininshed.Yesterday I received a parcel from Conrad Electronic.Part of the delivery were two Opel Kadett B from Herpa.I know they are not of a british prototype but they look similar to some british cars from the late 60s and early 70s.Markus
RMweb Gold McRuss Posted September 4, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 4, 2014 These morning I continued with my work on the warehouse. It is now finished except for the chimney pots. Then I started with the small goods shed from MBZ.Because of the large roof overhang of the model I reduced the length of theimitation of the woodwork under the roof. With these done I think it looks like a prefab house.I will use some corrugated plastic card for the roof, so that it looks like corrugatet iron.Markus
RMweb Gold McRuss Posted September 5, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 5, 2014 (edited) These morning I finished the shed buildingBut I'm not sure about the location.Should I use it as an office for the coal merchant. Then there are three possible places.a) B)oder c)From these three possibilities b is my favourite, because with a) and c) I have reduced access from the road/industrial area on therightOr I use the shed as an office for the boat builder. These is my personal favourit at the moment.I'm also thinking of buying another one, these I think could be used as a crew mess for the MPD.Markus Edited September 5, 2014 by McRuss

I only painted the ironwork with a rusty paint and the rest was weatheredwith powder. After these I started with the workshop for the boatbuilder. It is from the 00 Modelrailway Scenery range and was scaled down to 51% with the printer settings. The walls are standing now and an employe seems to have decorated the inner walls.Markus

RMweb Gold McRuss Posted November 14, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 14, 2014 Last weekend I gave Matthias (aka Haeckmaen) one part of my Leckmelm (ex Romesdale) modules. He will relay the track.Yesterday I started with the benchwork for the new Leckmelm modules.I was not satisfied with the laid down trackwork and partly with the landscape. On the new Leckmelm there will be gravel loading facility at the back of the straight section. The track befor will be a storage siding for mineral wagons. The wagons could be exchangedbetween the two tracks via a switchback which will curves along the curved mainline. there will bea short track with a small engine shed for an industrial shunter which is stationed there.Markus

RMweb Gold McRuss Posted December 22, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted December 22, 2014 Since last friday it is possible again to travel from the fiddle yard to Ullapool, because at Leckmelm 2.0 all track is laid and wired. At the first test I got a short circuit somewhere and it took me two long days to realize that it was not the wiring, I simple forgot toisolate the frog from the turnoutblades. So I made the cut with my Aldi Dremel and since them it worked.Markus

RMweb Gold McRuss Posted January 5, 2015 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 5, 2015 During the last few days I continued with my work on Leckmelm.First I made the hillside. For the base I use extruded Foam. Then I covered it with Polyfilla. After the Polyfilla was dry I tried rock castings.I purchased a Woodland Scenics set a few years ago, but never used it.So I gave it a try, and it worked. I made some rocks and glued themwith a Acryl Deco glue in place.Yesterday I started with building the gravel loading facility.I used a sketch from the Goods and not so Goods page. But I modified it a bit.http://mike.da2c.org/igg/rail/12-linind/m-quary.htmThe loading facility is now nearly finished. Only some details and the paint are missing.Markus

RMweb Gold McRuss Posted January 13, 2015 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 13, 2015 Yesterday I applied the ballast and scenery base on some parts of my module. For glueing down the ballast I tried the method which is shown by Modelrailroader. For these I applied 70% Isopropyl Alcohol after I put down the ballast. Then I waited a few minutes so that thealcohol could soak in between the granules. Then I applied diluted woodglue (You could also use ballast glue orWoodland Scenic glue)For the scenery base I also used a Modelrailroader methold.First I applied Noch scenery glue, then I put down my different scenic materials in layers, e.g. sifted dirt, Blended turf, gravel, clump foliage etc. After these is done I applied Isopropyl alcohol and waited a few minutes, so that it could soakin the scenery materials. Then I applied diluted woodglue.I placed some buildings on the module to look if the look right.on the right a Severn Models kit.Markus
