Fat Controller Posted March 7, 2014 Share Posted March 7, 2014 One thing I noticed when looking at a passing train of Thrall coil-carriers at Cardiff Central a while back was that there was a lot of patch re-painting in something very close to BR Bauxite (the earlier colour). Ive now weathered and heavy rusted my MBA ews wagons,after looking over many photos of them on the net.... using the following paints.. Modelmates "mud brown" dirt wash. What you can see is ordinary red oxide primer..... Nothing special, easier to get hold of than maroon. Wagon repairers only have a small palette when it comes to repairs.....
