bécasse
Oddly, I did a Saturday Oxford-Evercreech Junction round trip only 18 months later, although I my case I travelled out via Swindon, Bristol Temple Meads (with a side trip to Severn Beach) and Bath Green Park, and returned via Bath Green Park and General. It was amazing to look at your photos and see how much had changed in those 18 months.

RMweb Premium tingleytim Posted March 29, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 29, 2014 Great pictures, Dave. The ones inside Bath shed are just as clear and sharp even though the light must have been very poor. Wish there were photos showing as much detail of the roof structure at Templecombe as yours do at Bath. Your Midsomer Norton shots remind me of when I watched another Radstock “Jinty” 47506 performing a shunting manoeuvre up at Binegar. See https://www.flickr.com/photos/tingleytim/7093545909/ and https://www.flickr.com/photos/tingleytim/6947554166/ You mentioned Radstock at the top of your last posting but all the shots were of Midsomer Norton. Do you have some of Radstock? Many thanks. Tim.
RMweb Gold unravelled Posted March 29, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted March 29, 2014 Thanks for the correction, I'll amend the post. I've some more jinty pictures which are at Radstock, (I think). I always was bad at taking notes, and something in the back of my mind associated jinty pics with Radstock. More posts tonight if I don't get distracted... Thanks Dave
RMweb Gold unravelled Posted March 29, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted March 29, 2014 (edited) Some from 12/6/1965, with 92238 on a railtour, and others, mostly Evercreech Junction. If anyone can identify the other locations I can better tag the originals. Gratispool 25 asa slide film, so more grain than the previous pictures. RMweb Gold queensquare Posted March 30, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 30, 2014 Fantastic pictures again Dave. All the shots are at Evercreech except the fourth which is approaching Edington and five which is at Glastonbury. Jerry
RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted March 30, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 30, 2014 I've got to agree with Jerry, this is one of the best threads for us S&D fans for a long while - many thanks!

geoffers
8F looks like on the approach to Masbury Summit southwards. Lovely pics again. These are the locos I can dimly remember in the mid-60s "when I were a lad". Thanks for posting them.
RMweb Gold queensquare Posted March 31, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 31, 2014 Yet more fantastic shots, the portrait of the Jinty at Radstock is a beauty. As Geoffers says, the 8F is just north of Masbury summit heading south. Jerry

RMweb Gold unravelled Posted March 31, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted March 31, 2014 I'm afraid I got a bit out of sequence with the last set. These should preceed it. From end June or early July 1965. First Templecombe, with a few repeats. Thanks Dave
RMweb Gold unravelled Posted March 31, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted March 31, 2014 Continuing the same film, Stalbridge, Binnegar, Evercreech among other locations. More tomorrow... Dave

RMweb Gold unravelled Posted April 1, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 1, 2014 Many thanks for creating this thread and posting the photos. RMweb Premium tingleytim Posted April 1, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 1, 2014 The other locations are: Scan 17 Pylle. Westbound branch train. Scan 18 Wyke Champflower. 76056 on southbound train. Scan 19 Wyke Champflower. Northbound train. Might be 73012. Scan 20 Masbury station. Class 5 steaming well after several miles of 1 in 50. Can’t make out the loco number on my screen. Scan 28 Near Masbury summit. 80146 on northbound train. Scan 29 Pylle. Eastbound train. Scan 15 at Stalbridge looks very much like the 15.35 “Milkie” Templecombe to Blandford and Bailey Gate. Could be 80059 which you photographed at Templecombe. Your run round sequence at Binegar is terrific! I rode the 6.05 local from Bath just once in early April 1964 so at 7 o’clock in the evening there wasn’t much light and my pictures were rubbish whereas you had a beautiful evening. It was the same engine but three carriages that day for some reason. They had to be dragged uphill clear of the crossover before 82041 could run round, the crossover being between the platforms. I can’t recall seeing any printed pictures of the return service to Bath which left Binegar at 7.10. I had to wait there until 7.57 for the last train to Poole. Very much enjoyed your photos. Many thanks. Tim.
RMweb Gold unravelled Posted April 1, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 1, 2014 That location info is very useful. I'll tag the originals appropriately, and that will help when I get round to putting them on flickr. It's nice to be able to post a sequence rather than have to pick out a representative image. Even so I have left out a few shots from the set to avoid too much repetition. Watch this space thanks Dave
