Harry Lime
If we are looking at railways in the wider sense, then how about these two in Sussex: Volks Electric Railway: http://volkselectricrailway.co.uk/ Eastbourne Miniature Steam: http://www.emsr.co.uk/ And in Surrey: Malden and District miniature railway: http://malden-dsme.co.uk/public/index.asp
cromptonnut
Thanks Mr Lime, updated. Yes, certainly I think it's good to have "other than four foot eight and a half" railway attractions listed as naturally we all have different interests when it comes to railways and often anything railway related can be a bonus on a rainy day or give inspiration. I would however draw the line at places where Brunel might have stopped for a pee on his way back to Bristol...

Fat Controller
'Great Cockrow Railway' ( http://www.cockcrow.co.uk/ )- a minature railway following real railway operating practices; not surprising really, given how many railway professionals have been involved with it. RMweb Premium Claude_Dreyfus Posted April 29, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 29, 2014 Hi Bob, that qualifies for the "just outside our area" - many thanks for sharing. Should have remembered that one, our club is located about a mile away. Pedant mode on...it is actually 1/4 mile into our area; the correct side of the Sussex/Hampshire border!
