Pete Harvey
Here are some images of the Class 323 3D Printed Bodies. For the drive and bogies for the DVT's modified Farish 3 car 170 should be used as a starting point. The bodies have not been designed to take the Farish 170 directly so some input from the modeller will be necessary. For me info please contact me through my web site? RMweb Gold Robert Shrives Posted July 14, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 14, 2015 Hi , What a lovely set of prints. I was at Reg Rail Central when these beasts started to roam the West Midlands, roam a big word as problems casued many a hiccup but now happily carry on mundane duties on the Crosscity and elsewhere. A sound chip and speakers essential as they do sing. Even Modellers of the South Manchester scene can enjoy some 323 fun now . Thanks Pete for developing these models, looking forward to getting one rolling Robert
RMweb Gold CovDriver Posted July 14, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 14, 2015 Would these be available in 4mm scale as I would definitely be requiring a set as I've worked all the west midlands sets as a guard and shortly as driver. RMweb Gold Adam1701D Posted July 14, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 14, 2015 Those are gorgeous looking bodyshells. Please let me know if anyone would like my existing 323 vinyls adapting to fit - they are currently designed around the Farish 170 using the Etched Pixels conversion. I can offer all the major liveries including Centro, GMPTE, London Midland and Northern with all the variuous permutations of branding received over the years! RMweb Gold Robert Shrives Posted October 5, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 5, 2015 Hi , 3D Prints at Dapol open day and admired by many, underfloor units available from BR lines but no sprinterish bogies with couplings as used on 158/170 so it will be TPM bogies. 170 chassis obtained - will go in an end vehicle as pan roof panel prevents use. I have inhand two old jars of Centro green and the cream/buff albeit not acrylic so tried a test sample on roof inside of primered vehicel and dried ok with no reaction. thanks for work done to introduce this Pete. RMweb Gold big jim Posted October 5, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 5, 2015 Hi , 3D Prints at Dapol open day and admired by many am i missing something, where does Dapol come into it?
alibuchan
Robert had a set of them on his modelling table at the recent Dapol club day. Dapol are in no way involved with it, just providing a location for others to look at them in the flesh (so to speak). They have got me thinking about buying a set for the spare 170 chassis I have here. Alistair

Alistair cheers, reading the post it seemed strange to mention Dapol as pete mentioned the prints use Bachmann/farish chassis etc and i wondered if Dapol had something to do with them now or indeed had an unannounced model on the horizon

RMweb Gold Robert Shrives Posted October 6, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 6, 2015 Hi , Working on it - got chassis and some more parts, if world stands still long enough will try to get some paint on for Warley show case - not promising though. And sorry for confusion with Dapol mention ! It was members club openday last Saturday and I had the kit plus a pile of bits on show as a works in progress discussion site! cornish trains jez
I'm tempted by one of these even though they didn't run into Euston it would make an interesting addition.
cornish trains jez
Hi, Has anyone built and has a completed model of the 323 yet using these lovely 3D prints? I'd be interested to see some photos of the finished model. Best regards, Jeremy
alibuchan
I have now got my body shells, got to work out how the chassis will fit inside the bodies as they don't fit 'straight out of the box'. So got to get the cutting tools out. Paints have been aquired, for some reason I thought London Midland would be a good idea. Alistair

Alistair Hi Alistair, Look forward to seeing some photos of the finished item. London Midland will be a tricky masking job, what about the original delivery livery? Will you be posting a little step by step guide? Best regards, Jeremy
alibuchan
I will have a go with a step by step. But last time I tried I forgot to take photos! It has to be LM as it matches all of my other stock and timeline for my layout I'm making. Alistair
