Powerhaul 70 Pey
Had a drive to DRS Carlisle Kingmoor Depot 2015 open day today with the wife and kids. If there is anyone associated with DRS on this site then thanks for opening the doors to the public for the day. A brilliant afternoon out. Here's a few photos. That's my little lad in the drivers seat hanging out of the window. He loved exploring the cabs and engine rooms. 57307 has had a livery applied to mark 20 years of DRS 66302 demonstrates the site loco wash 57312 with some maintenance underway! 47712 in Scotrail livery 37401 "Mary Queen of Scots" 68004 in charge of the Pathfinder rail tour from Carlisle to Newport South Wales. A photo of the whole train would have been possible had it not been for a badly parked van. Has anyone got any other photos from the open day today? Or freights/passenger trains passing by on the West Coast Main Line taken from the site?

RMweb Gold 4630 Posted July 18, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 18, 2015 And I'll add my thanks and those of Mrs 4630 to DRS too for putting this event on. A selection of photos to add to those already here. 47712 rolls back the years and looks very smart in ScotRail livery. 37401 'Mary Queen Of Scots' adds to the Scottish theme. 57307 getting some new vinyls added - and the local media getting set up for an interview. 66422 basks in the sunshine outside the shed. Mrs 4630 was keen to try out 68003. A Pendolino passes the depot.
Powerhaul 70 Pey
Thanks for the photos Russ. Did anyone travel in style to Carlisle to yesterdays open day? There were two specials that I know of, one was the Class 68 hauled Pathfinder tour from Newport South Wales to Carlisle and the other was this one below, The Cumbrian Mountain Express hauled by 46233 The Dutchess of Sutherland which stopped at Wigan North Western around 7.30 yesterday morning. Again if anyone has any other photos of the specials or photos from the open day please share.
RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted July 19, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 19, 2015 Nice to see our largest state owned rail operator taking such good care of its assets and having a bit of fun with historic liveries, definitely still a good bunch in my view. RMweb Premium ColinK Posted July 19, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 19, 2015 I saw both railtours pass Hest Bank, didn't get any pics though. 46233 passed by very slowly giving everyone a good view, while the 68 rocketed past at high speed with a fair bit of thrash.
