steve W
Well. that's wasted a good afternoon! Superb site and in connection with a recent query about the Redruth and Chacewater Railway, several pics I have not seen before of Devoran, including one with a loco stripped down in the workshops 'Ansome stuff. Thanks for finding. Steve W (in exile)
DonB
Fascinating stuff! I typed in "Tin MIne" in the search, followed the next picture trail and came to the destruction of the Par - Fowey branch becoming the basis of the Haul Road construction. Dozens of pictures along the track bed, some with rails still present. Several show sleepers recessed in the centre (http://cornishmemory.com/item/WMA_P1_1_2056 ). Were these pressed steel sleepers? RMweb Premium Kris Posted November 24, 2015 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted November 24, 2015 An unusual image of Saltash station, complete with explosion. Must have been a tricky shot to get. http://cornishmemory.com/item/WAT_05_053

RichardS
Thanks for telling us about this Kris I typed in Boscarne and there were several pictures of Lower Boscarne Farm and the family who lived there. And also the cattle they had. Now being a Norfolk boy I'm familiar with various breeds but I am no expert and obviously models need the correct livestock for time and place etc. The beasts photographed might I guess be Ayrshires by the markings but they don't look big enough and maybe not enough white. Might they be a Cornish breed I wonder? Any cow-fanciers out there with any a ideas? Regards Richard
