giz
The only Mk1s in Provincial livery were BGs. All the rest were MK2s, mostly non-brakes. There were a couple of Mk2 BSOs painted in Provincial.

Vin
Hi, Provincial livery had a very short life span and an even smaller geographical area of operation. As it was only applied to trans-pennine express stock. This was made up from non aircon. Mk2 stock and a handfull of mk1 NEA fullbrakes with the repaints starting in 1986 and finishing in 1990. The final repaints were applied to mk2 BSO's when the mk1 NEA's were replaced and the sets reduced in length. Hope this helps. Vin

Vin There was also one TSO, Mk2b number 5453, painted in Provincial but not branded for TP. It was overtaken by events and Provincial became Regional Railways before any more were done. Sorry to thread hijack but I don't suppose you know if this coach made it into Regional Railways livery or did it stay in Provincial?

Regards Vin The third coach from the back looks like it may be a Mk2B as well - no centre door.
giz
Refering to Platform 5 and Michael Harris the late livery history for 5453 is: Before Jan 88 - Blue/grey By Jan 1989 - NSE at Laira By Nov 1990 - Provincial at Liverpool Edge Hill By Jan 1993 - RR at Derby Etches Park Withdrawn 1993 to West Coast Railway co. All the other Provincial liveried coaches were based at Heaton whilst on TP services. Other Mk2b TSOs that gained RR livery were 5463 and 5491, also Mk2c TSOs 5505, 5554 and 5614.
